Idk why ppl question her acting cute when shes supposed to be cringe that way especially her crying. Shes supposes to act like shes acting if u get it, whats not clicking yall? Her entrance ugh she’s so witchy with that spirit lamp. The leads are just serving looks and duan xu is just mysterious, u cant wait for them to reveal it one by one.

Xiao Shuhe was really something, he never compromised one. I never thought one can love but also hate so much. Used love as a weapon to make up for the grievances he had for his brother and kingdom. Making Zi'ang witness his death the day after the wedding? He's even more cruel. The ending was hauntingly beautiful.
I rewatched some of the trailers and i realized Zi'ang usurped his father's throne, just like what Shuqian did. After all, Jibei's ruler still had long years to live before actually needing to pass the throne. His death is the testament and start of Zi'ang's desperation, sparing no time just to make Shuhe come back to his side.
Who would've thought those delicate hands he cared for, will one day pierce him with the very dagger meant to protect.

But no, i bet those alone weren't enough for love to turn into hate. It was because Shuhe was a prince too kind to abandon his people, even if it meant severing the bond that tethered his heart.
He can't leave, because a country without a ruler will be its downfall. Like a house of cards, everything was meant to crumble on that cold night. Even if Duan Zi'ang saves him from the cruel blade of his own brother, doing so will only pass the weight of the crown onto Shuhe.
Zi’ang loved that kind heart, but he would rather become cruel if cruelty meant keeping it safe. Where Shuhe saw duty as love, Zi’ang saw love as duty.

It's not just a bl in a different genre, they sold us a real political one. It's honestly so intriguing this couldve been a real good something in mainstream when compared to other political dramas. Today's ep 8 was so gut wretching it actually reminded me of Goodbye My Princess in a way.
