CHEN ZHEYUAN WILL SWOON YOUR HEART AWAY!!

I am not a big fan of historical/costume dramas but now I feel, if there is CZY's presence then I can watch it with the same enthusiasm as I watch the Modern dramas! No but I won't give my review being partial towards this fact.

Earlier I have watched only one historical drama that was Handsome Siblings, it was long and had so many heavy and difficult scenes to watch, but my sole reason to watch the drama was CZY, and he made it all worth it! The drama turned out to be the most favourite drama of mine, just not because of CZY but also for its storyline.

The Princess and the werewolf is like a breath of fresh air.. It truly stands out, considering all it's factors - Love, Friendship, companionship, Brotherhood, Music, Costumes, Comic timing, Character developments, story development. All the ingredients to make a drama entertaining and successful is there in it.

let me jot down some very much plus points (as there are many)

1. ofcourse, CZY as Kui Mulang, Oh my god this Lad has done soo good in this drama, the way his versatility is utilised is par excellence! one moment he is scary but caring king Kui Mulang, the other moment he is as soft and cute as rabbit being Li Xiong. Not to forget his disguise as a girl in Ep. 5. I can rewatch every second of his screej presence again and again and again!

2. Wu Xuan Yi as princess Qi Pa did great great job, I actually didn't expected her to be so good after watching her in Sweet Teeth, but hear, this lady has literally proved herself to be the best in her role

3. The other casts - Hong Xiu, Lui Jun, Hu Die, Ma Yinxiong (The bestest of best this guy is) , Chun Er and Bie Ke did extremely well and we can't help but fall in love with their characters and their respective chemistries with the Main leads.

4. OST - Superb osts sounds like this, what realistic and relatable lyrics have they put can just blow my mind away! Simply, amazing!

5. The touch of modern world in the historical drama surely makes you connect and content with the drama.

6. Costumes - Though majority of cast is seen in the same outfit throughout the drama but the designs were just on point. The way kui mulang's black robe gives goosebumps is pure bliss, not to forget Qi pa's gowns which I literally want to steal!

7. A special appreciation to CZY, his team and his make up artists for giving us the best look of kui mulang and keeping up with the 4 hours of time to put on his make up!

Some little minus points of the drama which can be easily ignored

1. The dragginess with Qi Pa's tricks surely can itch you in middle part of the drama.

2. The casting of Su He, the girl portraying Su He seem not at all scary but in fact dull and dum.

3. More than required screen space of Jing Muhan, Earthworm and Haitang.


All those who have not yet tried watching historical dramas and want to give a try, then this drama is for them! And I know many of the CZY fans who are new to our madness(😅) are stalking for more of his dramas after watching Hidden love, then they should really give this drama a try and CZY won't disappoint you!

I KNOW YOU WANT TO WATCH IT FOR BINBIN BUT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS DRAMA!

I usually watch any drama after reading few reviews and judge whether it is worth my time or not and I did the biggest mistake by not reading the reviews in this one and directly jumped in to watching it because of the soul reason - VIN ZHANG
On personal basis, it was not a whole time waste for me as I got to learn one thing from the drama, infact, from the negative character, Lin Hao, is that when we have a breakup with someone who was so close to us and we loved them truly, we often romanticize their personality, their traits and everything, but in real when someone does wrong to you and you find yourself blaming your own self is the biggest sign that you are not wrong and above that, the other person is never going to change or come and apologize to you (in real sense). even if they do, they will be there for some benefit only and not because they love you just like LIN HAO. I find this cruel and not so comfortable thing very real in this drama. Yes, we do have so many Lin Haos moving around us and over lives- the ultimate manual of RED FLAG was portrayed by the single chatacter and that was simply outstanding for me.

The drama has the capability of making you frustrated by thinking that in the poster they have shown Vin Zhang as the lead but the whole drama has surely more frame of the negative character than the male lead.

Some good points about the drama:
1. The character Yan
2. The learning of how to deal with a toxic ex.
3. Han Shuang's dressing style.
sorry no other...

Negative points
1. LIMITED LIMITED screen presence of both the leads.
2. Terrible trust issues among all the characters makes me feel like how come they have. shown the solid friendship amongst the people who have basic trust issues.
3. Too much stretched. (utter wastage of time)
4. Non sensicle entry of ML's ex

A drama that will make you want TIME TRAVEL!

Honestly, I started this drama only for a single reason - Jerron Wu! As I had watched him in ' A romance of little forest' he was so cute in that drama, it made me feel to watch him as ML. Then I read the synopsis which was similar to the story of an Indian Bollywood romcom movie titled 'Action Replay' , so my interest grew and I jumped in the universe of this drama.

A hidden gem in this drama for me was Lui Yitong, though I didn't find his face very handsome or cute but I fell in love with his acting and character. only he could do the role of Qi Shuo which required the all the characteristics in one person, be it loving, caring, cute, innocent, humorous or be it impulsive, hurt, sad, vulnerable, bold, brave, decisive he aced every emotion so brilliantly!

Judi Qi also impressed me by her naive, a bit foolish but 'I own it my own way' , cute, innocent and strong character. Have watched her in 'A River runs through it' and I could see the development in her craft. She made us laugh through out the 18 episodes and made us cry even harder in last two episodes. Did a great job 👏

Jerron Wu proved he has such charm that can literally draw anyone to watch the piece in which he has afted, for me before it was 'Time and him are just right' and now this, as I said earlier, I start getting interested in the works where he shows up and I feel he has great potential to make his presence feel in the near future, he will be a great name in the Chinese drama industry. He did wonderful job as Lu Xiao! He not only has the cute smile and squeeze worthy cheeks but also very powerful art of making the character his own! Good luck to him for the future!

Now, talking about the scripting, the story was just so superbly woven (keeping aside the science aspect a bit at side) from the emotional perspective. Anyone who is coming from a broken family, who knows what it is like living in the regret because of the decisions made by their parent in their vulnerability, foolishness or impulsiveness and their cost too, would easily be able to resonate with this story. The weak point for me was scripting and execuation, they skipped so many parts,only if they could make it 24 episodes series and could show some more details and not let it left for the audience to jot the points, it would have been so better that way!

watch only for superbly executed Rescue sequences and YY

I was actually quite excited to watch this drama but it turned out a bit disappointment for me. Keeping it short,

Positive points:
1) Vin Zhang and Yang Yang's chemistry as best friends not only gives nostalgic vibes (Love o2o) but feels like a banter of fresh air too!

2) Vin Zhang's special appearance- okay you may sue me for saying this but till 10th eps my all eyes were on him eventhough Yang Yang was right besides him ( Clearly overpowered YY's charm for me)

3) Extra ordinarily superb casting, yes every character from leads to the minor ones did their job fantastically!

4)Yi Da Qian as Zhan Dapeng - His death in the drama felt very very personal to me🥺.

5) Amazing Rescue Operation sequences


Negative Points

1) I felt zero chemistry between the main leads, infact, Jiang Yu and Li Meng had more natural chemistry than them (facts only)

2) Osts literally suck, not a single song impressed the mind and hence there is no attachment with the drama even after watching 40 eps.

3) Too much streched, it could have been easily wrapped up in maximum 30 eps.

4) I am a huge fan of Yang Yang since Love o2o days but his charm is not properly utilised and glorified for the reasons I am unable to understand.

5) Could have been a satisfactory ending instead of the forced scenes just stacked up to increase the ep count.

If you want to watch some good comedy drama with zero sense, you can go ahead!

Seriously, I could barely survive this drama because of three simple reasons : FL's chef kissed costumes, parallel pair's tom and jerry like cute relationship and comedy.

I felt zero chemistry between Main leads though they are individually mind blowing actors. I don't know it is just me who feels like this but yeah this was the most disappointing part of the drama.

The drama seems forced, like the whole plot was made forcefully just for the sake of making a drama with two absolutely gorgeous looking actors sorry but that didn't help much!

There are just too many loopholes that you just cannot ignore in the storyline.

If you want to watch good comedy then you can try this one for sure.

A fantasized realistic time travel drama went totally on point!

First of all, for the ones who watch dramas for fluffy, light and sweet romance, this one is not for you as you won't be able to digest it and may drop it in between. And for those who watch dramas for story,content and learnings.. This is a must watch or I would say,if you missed this masterpiece even being a content lover then you are not a true content lover!
I started watching it just for a soul reason - CHEN ZHEYUAN!!! I had already watched 3 of his dramas and he is pure TALENT and his good looks are just cherry on the cake.. After watching this one, I can surely say one thing about him is, he doesnt pick up a scipt just for being in the show bussiness or just for doing work, his choice of script is soo on point always that it shows how much he loves his job and how much he really wants to deliver some good content to the audience along with making them laugh and love with his own magic!
Talking about overall drama, Though being a fictional drama it does not convey that is impossible to digest! A layman can surely belief what they have shown with all possible logic behind every unbelievable incident, be it living of zhen jun and Si Long for 1800+ years, No reincarnation like shit, or the Love story.
Well, The FL did a great job with both the roles but when it came to catching up with the romantic chemistry with CZY, there was something lacking. ( might be because I am CZY fan and loved his chemistry with Liang jie in Handsome Siblings and Rainbow Xu in Our secrets). I just could not accept both of them being a couple eventhough the writers did great job in writing their love story and both of them also did great performance but yes the 8 years difference between them in real was somewhere visible!
I would highly recommend this one who wants to watch it for CZY! Be ready to dive in more deeper ocean of love for CZY!!!

Watched only for Fan ZhiXin and he didn't disappoint at all

FANN ZHII XINNN... you are one gem of an actor I need to tell you that! first watched him in My Girl as SL and he just swoon away all the attention apart from the main leads! Then watched him in Our Secret, again had to watch him as Second lead and wanting to watch him as ML one day and yes the dream came true and how... we could witness every node of his art in just one character- Romantic, jealous, a bit psycho, angry, domineering CEO, and what not! full package boss (bole toh paisa vasool!!)

If I had watched this drama in theatre, there were many scenes were I literally wanted to cheer for him by whistling and clapping😂😂😂

Apart from him, the FL was also so so so good at her role, we could see Zhaung Xinyan when she played her for the tiny part and ofcourse Shen Manning when she played her, the difference was very clearly visible and here she won as an actor! hatsoff! Also, the Indian audience who is reading my review, can you agree to me that she is Rashi khanna's doppleganger, omg for me, they look exactly the sameee!!! such coincidence 😲😲

The story, bit sucked to me because I felt it went round and round and the drama did not take the name of stopping and the story mostly focused on the shares of LH group and Zhaung Family instead of main leads love story, they could have shown more of them rather than those foolish plans and plots. also, the story ended in rather unsatisfied way, cause I wanted to see what happened to Jaikai and Caixuan after his mother's arrival but it was all left to audience to assume that they might be in jail, yes agreed their deeds were such they must be in jail but did their intention changed, did Caixuan wholeheartedly apologized to others for murdering 3 people...

If you don't have anything to watch, this can be a good way to time pass

For me, The ML carried the whole show on his shoulder, I could complete it is because of him, yes not the child but him! The child was adorable but the ML easily took off the limelight unlike any other drama with a kid at a centre in it!

The FL's makeover could be a bit good and her acting bit sucked in some parts (maybe it was the writer's fault) otherwise it was good.

Rest of the cast (which consists hardly 4 people) did good job too given the fact they had very less time to make audience convinced about their character. Except for the old Man who was playing Qi Mo's father, his acting literally seemed like acting.

coming to the best part, OST, THEY AREE SOOO GOOD!!! only 15 sec in the beginning could tell you that dude, this song will be surely be a good one!

THIS IS NOT LIKE 'A LOVE SO BEAUTIFUL'!

I feel like the fellow reviewers have scammed me in to watching this drama saying 'If you want to fill in the void after ALSB, this drama is for you' Noooo not at all it is like ALSB! The skeleton of the drama might be like ALSB but the execution and story did disappointed me a hell lot!

The best thing about the drama was the Cast! The actors made me complete the drama otherwise I would have dropped it at the 7th episode itself. Every actor was so good at the role! The only person who did the great job in the crew was the casting director! Seven Tan was my most favourite amongst all and then comes the actor who played Lu Xing He... Trust me, The only interest I had in the story was how Lu Xing He's love develops and how he expresses so warmly everytime till the end! I had seen 'beta' in 'My dear ancestors' and I loved her as an actor (Though a bit biased against pairing her up with Chen ZheYuan) and here also she doesn't disappoint! The actor who played "Zhang Ping" was great on his job too! Last but not the least, Liu Hao Ren was good too but his limitation was the character given to him which doesn't allow him to show his talent which is written all over his face that he has in him, so I would love to see his other works before saying anything about him...

Coming to OSTs, there was no single tune, let alone a song, that gets our attention and we cant stop humming it. For me, osts are like bridges between the audience and the stories, they make the story alive and felt by the audience. maybe, this is one of the reason why I am not attached to the story!

The incompleteness is too much in the drama, the whole group was shown so close to each other in some parts whereas in others they were totally unconnected. for example, Han Xu was considered as other side actors which were just there to fill the class' benches. Bei Ling's real intention and other things they have not shown only, after leap no other friends are visible, just their voice you get to hear whereas they must have shown a proper reunion of them, Not even something about Zhou Mo and Jian Dan they have shown and the most important the ending literally pissed me off and I have came here to rant my anger! Okay we get it Geng geng was always in love with Yu Huai and she cannot hurt Lu Xing He by commiting him a loveless marriage - ACCEPTED... but atleast we as audience deserved some chemistry and love scenes between the two main leads which was an invisible hope that never came true until the last episode and after that too.....

Wastage of time

I have seen some very brilliant cdramas which made me feel like there would be no dramas which are literally frustrating and waste of time but then came this drama... Now someone would ask, why did I started watching it in the first place! Well, my answer contains lots of reasons like I had watched the ML in Wait,my youth (one of my favourite dramas) and I found him a real cutie, I wanted to watch some high-school college drama, I had seen various people recommending this drama on instagram and so on. The only thing that turned out fruitful was the ML, He has done amazing job playing Luo Yan but yes I missed his charm and that bright smile he had in Wait, my youth and they had done a blunder with his dressing style, he is seen wearing a turtle neck t-shirts with a plain or line printed shirts having above few buttons open, also the terrible Color combination like charcoal grey t-shirt and dull peach colored shirt! I wonder were was the common sense of his stylist while styling his costumes!

Then there comes the FL, I would hate to comment something negative because I am aware that I do not hold any authority to comment on the acting skills of an already published actor but she made me so irritated, yes she was pitiful but I just couldn't connect to her aura and her acting seemed ' acting ' . Because of this, I couldn't feel any chemistry between the leads whereas the only thing positive about the drama was an effort to make the viewer feel cheesy but in my case, I felt like throwing up when she said something cheesy, or did "cute" assumptions like first kiss seems like jelly (what nonsense)
There were so many discontinuities in the storyline that it just couldn't make me gripped to it and I am slipping away at 18th episode because I don't feel like the story is going anywhere as it has so many unnecessary plots like patching up the SL and his girlfriend, Pregnancy rumour (in which teachers are also very much non sensically nosy amd judgemental) and unnecessary characters like Sun Jiayi and SL's girlfriend.
I am spending my time to stop someone like me to watch this drama and save their time because reading this would take only few minutes whereas the drama will take more than 720 minutes and TIME is the most precious resource we have!
