Just my thoughts…
So, I don’t mind how short it is, though it would have made more sense as a movie than a show. However, the acting made it obvious it was shot both on a budget as well as on a time crunch, not to say the acting was bad, just sorta rushed. Despite this and the lack of knowing much about any of the characters except for one day in their pasts, I still got pretty attached to the characters. I was a little disappointed they chose to market this as a romantic Bl instead of a tragedy, because I was expecting and rooting for him to live. I guess the plot twist did make it more interesting and wholesome, though. Was this review helpful to you?

So… this is gonna be a lot, but…
I LOVED this show. Even though the first couple of episodes were VERY hard to watch because of the second hand embarrassment from Toh. However, I’m glad that I stuck with it, because Nuea and Toh did not disappoint! For the most part, they were just the right mix of sweetness, jealousy, and spice. Although, it is pretty weird how calm Nuea was about the stalking(and that’s putting it nicely at this point🫣) I mean, he even made it into a makeshift museum…🤔 Nevertheless, good for them and their.. quirkiness? On another note, one of my FAVORITE things about this show(aside from the fact their friend group is the most chaotic and absolute best thing ever!) was the relationship between SkyJao. The way that Sky was allele to recognize everything that Jao needed from every step of the relationship. The way Sky took it just fast enough that Jao noticed his feelings, but not so fast that Jao gets insecure or scared of it them. And the way he encourages Jao to be himself, whatever it is, and makes him feel nothing but validation in how Sky feels for him or his looks. But at the same time, once Jao confirmed his feelings were not only matching, but also that Jao was ready to handle more, Sky definitely didn’t treat him like he had no experience..🤭 Honestly, they really surprised me with how kinky they are! Like I thought NueaToh was bad, but SkyJao are better! What with the (very excessive) biting, the choking(WHAT? little Jao is into choking?🫠) and even the way they are always kissing and acting cute(which is a total shift for Jao). They are such a cute, unproblematic couple, and I LOVE IT!
I’ll be honest, though, this show could have easily been a favorite had they handled things better with Touch and Daisy! For one, the lack of screen time they got was very disappointing! Especially because they were easily the cutest couple in the whole show(IMO). I mean, come on, did y’all see how Touch looks at her?🥹 But the fact they kinda just skip over the whole thing with Daisy/Day having her identity crisis, and the fact they mention it is because of her wanting to make him comfortable, but didn’t show us anything about how he felt, Sucked! Especially since, the following episode we see both Toh and Jao tackling their issues from that episode. And a couple episodes later, we see Touch and Daisy together, and flirting, but hadn’t addressed the situation at all. And then in the last episode, not only do we only get a resolution to the issue in 2 little sentences, but we only got a total of about 1 minute worth of them being together after that. And it wasn’t even consecutive, just in the background.
I was also pretty disappointed that Saint only got a couple of scenes, I was really excited to see him in something else. But seeing as he was the director, I understand he was busy😅.
Overall, this show is AMAZING though, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to watch BLs. And I would absolutely watch it again. The acting was great, and the overall story was good too. It was definitely different than what I’m used to, which is another plus. The main soundtrack is mostly just the one theme song used repeatedly, but I kinda liked it that way. I think the casting was done really well, everyone has great chemistry, and they did a great job on their characters.

Not worth it.
Okay, I know it’s a short, and I know it was shot still with Covid restrictions, but I personally didn’t think this was worth all the hype it had, nor do I think it was a good idea to release weekly episodes instead of all at once. The overall basis of the storyline, and the acting are good, I did enjoy it. However, at least half the show is taken up by the intro, putto, and constantly repeated scenes. The entirety of the actual story we get without this is only about 30 minutes, at most an hour(but that’s pushing it). Not to mention that there are some unanswered questions and personal I feel like too many characters for what the show gave. Like I said, I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it as a short to someone, but I’d be sure to inform them of all of this first. Was this review helpful to you?

?
Okay, so overall, I would recommend this show, and I would watch it again, but probably only in the background while I’m not fully paying attention. I didn’t mind the fact that the storyline was lacking. It was good overall, and at first, but sorta feel off in the middle, and then got repetitive in the end. Especially with the calling off the engagement because of secrets and insecurities. And then the fact that Lian shows actual interest or feelings for Kuea, and he decides to not call it off yet, or agrees to continue and to advance and etc. Personally, I didn’t care for the engagement since birth thing, since Lian is so much older, it made it weird. Had they been a little closer in age, it wouldn’t have been so bad.. I’ve seen that before and it was okay. Honestly I do like that they made them so different and not know much about each other. It makes sense considering that Lian was in already out of college before Kuea even entered high school. I’d say the best part of this show is the 3rd couple, the spicy value, and Poppy! (What would we have done without our comedic relief?☺️)I don’t wanna say too much about this show because it will be repetitive, but mostly, I think that the show could have still been pretty good, had they only communicated for 5 minutes. That was everyone’s problem in this show. The age gap, the secrets and all of the incompatibilities could have been fixed and avoided with just a conversation. Honestly, I loved the casting, though.. they did a great job on that. And the soundtrack is pretty good, I love NuNews voice so much!

I like it…
So, it’s been a while(like 4 months) since I’ve watched anything other than a Thai drama or BL.. so I’m going to try to review this fairly.Overall it’s a great story. Though it’s a pretty common story trope for kdramas, I liked how it didn’t start the typical way. I also like how unlike usual, where they fight and deny feeling for a long time, and then eventually get together, and something “breaks them up” temporarily before they work it out and switch into heavily being a couple. Instead, they are simple and wholesome and light, while still staying hidden, mostly for the sake of reputations on both ends.
My only real issue was that then ending was very anticlimactic and underwhelming. I didn’t enjoy the fact they had him be gone for a year, drop a potential cheating scandal, and then have him show up and propose all in the last 5 minutes of the show. Not to mention, they never really say what happens with Jin Young Seo and her father, or between her and Cha Sung Hoon. They mention her taking a year off, but for what? And she calls him her boyfriend at the end, so does that mean the engagement was off? Or on hold? I just feel like it needed one more episode to really wrap things up.
All this said, I did really enjoy it for it being my first kdrama in a while.
