Also, there's difference between loveline and shoving romance down our throats. Forgive me for being outdated, but I haven't seen an English serial since 2012. But if we are talking of ORGANIC romance, I would say Booth and Bones. They were partners and confidants who grew to love each other over the course of the serial and eventually got married towards the end. Elizabeth in White Collar is another good example. She is Peter's wife, and one of their frequent partners-in-crime but her presence is woven comfortably around the lead pair.
If we are talking jarring forced romance, Castle and Kate. There was no need for them to pair up in the show...they were better off as partners. Just because there's a man and a woman as leads, doesn't mean they have to get together as a couple. In most non-romance K-dramas, THIS is what "forced romance" feels like. No issues if the relationship is organic, and it doesn't take away from the main story. I have issues if it does. Not every plot needs romance... if u have to have romance, for "humanizing the characters" keep it out if the main story and make it flashback or something.

This is middle of the movie where Aaron is being sent home and Christian follows him to confess. Search for "If I could be with you now latter days ost" which is a companion for this scene (see if u can find the lyrics version, because lyrics are very important here). There's a lot of heartbreak to follow after ths scene, but it does have a happy ending.
