They did not lie when they promised this drama would be healing

This drama is one of the most refreshing things I've watched in awhile. It's fairly light hearted (though there are episodes that will hurt), and full of good communication and character growth and so many of those lovely things. Every couple is a delight to watch, even the ones that frustrated you in the beginning. The town and the people who live in it genuinely feel real and complex, and they get as much screen time as they deserve.

It's not nothing but fluff, but this is a good thing. This is well written and soothing and I absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Interesting and had a good start! Lackluster ending, unfortunately, and almost none of the character arcs had a good wrap up. I think this drama was meant to be more slice of life than it advertised itself, and than it began. It almost had the semblance of a plot.

However I feel that things came too easily to the main couple, that they lacked chemistry except for in one scene, and that the hardships the ML went through were extremely unrealistic and overplayed. It's not a waste of time to watch this, but I can't fully recommend it and it's definitely not worth a rewatch. Unfortunately somewhere in the middle it lost all the momentum it had built up and went into rapid decline.

Magical realism, miscommunication, stress. 10/10 watch

This show is a darling. Before I talk about what I love, keep in mind before deciding to watch that there is a huge age gap between the characters (literally and figuratively, they go undercover as teacher and student in college but also he's 999) and it's a forced proximity situation.

I adore their relationship. I adore how assertive Lee Dam is, and how open about her feelings and willing to communicate she is. I adore the shenanigans that happen in the momentary panic before they realize they need to just come out and say whatever it is they're thinking of. I love that LD actually has friends and family members that matter to the story and to her rather than cardboard cutouts to make her look like less of a loser because oh no she definitely has a backstory. I genuinely just love this drama and I think you should watch it.

Deceptively slice of life, take care of the trigger warnings they neglect to give

The first season of this show was incredible, I loved all of the girls and was interested in their stories. It really draws you into their lives and relationships.

I feel like there should've been better warnings about the triggery stuff that happens later on in the season, however. The character we're introduced to first gets the least screen time and seems to shift into an entirely different person off screen with no explanation, which is frustrating. Most of the story lines could use a lot more screen time and some of the editing decisions are absurd and add unnecessary confusion which breaks the suspension of disbelief.

However, I do genuinely like this show. I think if it ended at the first season I would regard the whole thing as a dated but enjoyable binge watch. And since MDL separates the seasons as though they're different shows- so will I.

It's nearly a modern day Bridgerton plot and I love that

This was a stellar watch, fake dating/fake relationships trope at it's finest. Everyone was likeable(even the annoying one I wish had gotten a different ending) and the ending was satisfying, even though I'm not really a fan of time skips.

This isn't the drama for you if you get easily frustrated by couples with terrible communication skills, especially in the case of one of the secondary couples. But if you love a good married for circumstances until we fell in love story then you will love this.

Heartwarming, wonderful tale

This was an absolutely beautiful story. I loved every minute of it and it has quickly become my favorite drama ever. There's so much to love- an elderly male lead, a focus on family relationships, genuine friendship between male characters, passion for nontraditional hobbies, etc etc. The story moves you and sticks with you. The characters are so compelling, you can't help but hope for the best outcome for all of them, even ones you wouldn't suspect. Prepare to feel so very deeply that you'll need to recover before watching anything else.
