Last 20 minutes gave me Sharknado vibes

This movie was nothing to run home about. The last 20 minutes were abysmal. The acting from the trio was good but some of the side characters were too intolerable, especially the team leader. I don't like how the actor was screaming his lungs out in every scene. Overacting may work for anime but it is not suitable for live action. I am guessing this was released alongside the anime to promote the manga heavily. The makeup on the zombies itself was good but I didn't like the CGI shark. Not to mention Akira becoming a power Ranger at the end was too comical even for this show. Akira makes stupid mistakes.

Journalism is seriously a very tiring job but it could also be inspirational

I am glad Netflix recommended this J drama to me. The amount of J dramas which have great production value are less in numbers but thanks to Netflix there is an increase in them. Being a Journalism student I found this series really inspirational. The story is really simple but the way it is executed is great. I do have to say that they didn't need to mention the Coronavirus. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to see a political thriller. Keep investing more in J dramas Netflix. Their is an untapped potential here.

This film was weird. Let's start with our main character In-su. He can see ghosts and he had a crush on his childhood friend. He knew how to draw. That's all I can say about his character. The actor did a good job but his character could have been established better. Next I come on to the Uncle. He is a lazy bum and is scared of ghosts unlike his nephew. He was quite funny in the few moments he was there. Sae hee had the best character. The way she stands up to bullies and the way she was treated was heartbreaking. I liked the romance but it needed to be elaborated upon. It does have a tag of romantic comedy. The bullies were typical bullies. Hyun ji could have been written a bit better when I heard about her parents. The twist of the Multiple personality disorder caught me of guard. The ending was terrible though. Just because they wanted to give us a last jump scare without any sort of connection to the rest of the plot. The jump scares were effective. Overall this movie was fine but not something I would watch again.

Scams are bad lol

Scams is a show I have added to my list months ago on Netflix and I just randomly started watching it. All I have to say I really enjoyed it. The story is really cliche. The protagonist Makoto wants to make money becasue he needs it for his father's operation who is suffering from cancer. But with time he gets addicted to Scams. One thing I like is the scams are not a blast. They are rather small scale. It was something pretty new. The peeformances were great though I didn't really care for any of them except Makoto. The ending was not explained properly. Overall its a good show for trying something new but it could have been much better. You can finish this in one go as the show has only 9 episodes of 22 - 24 mins each

Perseverance is really Important

Just finished the movie and I gotta say that it leaves such a warm feeling by the time you finish it. The song at the end specially would give you such a feeling of warmth. I watched this movie after listening to that song repeatedly. The acting by our two main leads was good. If felt natural for high schooler even though it is a fantasized version. No unnecessary plots. I specially loved how both the leads focus on perfecting their craft for not only because of the promise but also because of the passion and respect they have for each other. Only problem with this series (not the movie) is that the manga is not fully translated in English and there is no anime version. What the hell are you waiting for Japan. Make an anime adaptation of this Shoujo. It would sell like hotcakes. Sorry to go off on a weird tangent but the point is this movie is not only wholesome but also inspirational. It would inspire you to be best at your craft while also encouraging others to do the best.

Joker

First off the acting was good from both Yamazaki Kento and Tsuchiya Tao. I loved their relationship in the series and it felt natural. Also I loved how creative the games this season were. The first episode starts with a thrilling car chase sequence and I loved it. I also loved the character of Tatta. He dies a very meaningful death. That's the best thing about this series. No character is treated like a cannon fodder. Even characters like Niragi and Aguni. Also we even got to see Chishiya in action more than I thought I would. Loved his backstory. Kuzuryu's backstory and the game he created was very interesting. I would have loved to see an extension to it. But there are few issues I have with this season. We only got to see glimpses of the backstory of some characters. The other issues I have are with the last two episodes. First my thoughts on episode seven :- I loved them but why the hell do many characters besides Arisu gain plot Armor. Also the series expects you to believe that a character which was previously killed can be brought back. They did it once with Niragi and thrice with Aguni. As for episode eight. It was confusing. Apparently in episode 1 of season 1 Tokyo was hit by a meteorite in which Arisu, Chota and Karube were caught up along with other major characters; those who survived till the end in the Borderlands survived in the real world. But all of them forgot about it. So Karube and Chota died but Arisu survived. We also got to see the shot of the Joker card in the end. Don't know what that was about but maybe a tease for a potential season 3. I still loved the second season of Alice in Borderland though. I think it ended on a satisfying note. But if they make a season 3 and make it as good as this season I'll watch it.

This story is not about aliens but a cult

It's been so long since I have binged a K drama. One of the best parts of the show was it's balance of serious atmosphere with the comedy. Neither of them outweighs the other. There is one twist in episode 7 which I called out but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. My favourite character was Jihyo and I liked her friendship with Bora. The side characters such as Captain Prince, Cho Philip and Dong hyuk were really funny. There are few issues that the show suffers from. The first episode is a little slow which makes sense since it is a setup episode. But the ending of the episode makes you want more. Jihyo's boyfriend Siguk who disappears and was her whole motivation for the show does not do anything major in the show. I didn't like how their relationship ended. The show also tricks you into thinking it's focus is on aliens but instead it is on a shady cult. Even with those minor complaints I highly recommend Glitch

Hikaru Utada's sensational songs gave us a gem

I will refer to Harumichi as Haru in this review. When I started watching this show I was in the mindset that they would give us a bittersweet ending. Infact if the story ended at episode 8 I wouldn't mind. It was bittersweet but felt much more realistic than the real ending. I loved the acting of the main leads and their younger selves in this show. Haru is a character who is a delinquent during his high school years. However he changes after his encounter with Yae. Both of them are each other's first love. They sprinkled the sweet and tender moments between them throughout the show. But then the tragedy strikes. Yae gets into an accident and loses her memories of few years especially the ones she spent with Haru. Yae's mother who keeps her daughter away from Haru (and justifiably so) results in their seperation. Yae gets married to a doctor and gets pregnant with a son, Tsuzuru. One of the things I really loved about the show is Haru's bond with his deaf sister Yu. Knowing Japan and it's obsession to incest I was surprised to see such a beautiful sibling relationship. But I guess it's much more prevalent in anime. Also speaking of Yu I loved her and Haru's best friend Bonji's short love story. The way he freaking proposed to Yu was really adorable. It was such a heartwarming moment. I also liked that they showed how Haru tried to get over Yae with Tsunemi, although it didn't work. I liked they dedicated an episode to her and how she met Haru. It was also nice to see that they didn't just put her there for a plot point. Tsunemi is nyctophobic and that made her a much deeper character. Haru's development from a delinquent to a man who will protect the country was wonderful to see. There are things that I did not like in the show. I didn't care about Tsuzuru's love story. That's not to say he himself was a bad character. But his love interest didn't feel anything special. I didn't care for their resolution. While I love episode 9 because it shows us the start of the main relationship of the show I can't help but wonder episode 8 was a better ending. Although episode 9 ties up all the loose ends of the show. It's nice to see a happy ending in a show full of heartbreaks. I am thankful to this show for introducing me to a wonderful song.
