If I am remember correctly flora also changes a lot after their breakup, but the biggest difference would be that when they finally get back together for good they have a “chasing period” where Luke chases after her, they share their feelings and talk. In one instance she reaches out to Luke and goes to meet Luke in Beijing when he gets kinda disappointed that she still doesn’t has him fully in her heart.

I read the novel a while back, but i agree with you. Also because the drama made their relationship more and not just friends with benefits what they were for a long time in the novel, this makes it more hard to just define their characters as red or green flags. If you look from the novel’s perspective Luke was not that emotionally available for flora as he is in the drama and he just treated this as a physical relationship, so flora’s actions of sharing everything with her flatmates made sense, and in the novel she was very open with her emotions. In the drama their relationship even though secret still feels like a relationship and her not sharing imp things with Luke looks bad.
Also I think the drama did not do a good job of showing how much time has passed, you will only know if you look at the details.

for years i was waiting for this drama (after reading the novel), but it went by so fast. i am gonna miss them so much. for me the they were the perfect leads, and portrayed the characters so well.

i see people getting mad at YF actions, i don't think these people understand that everyone deals with trauma differently and it is very hard to change how you deal with it suddenly when you have been that way your whole life......also every time she told anyone about her trauma she gets treated as if it didn't happen.......but i do think the drama is dragging it a little too long.....i liked the novel version but i wont say anything until its finished

her aunt in law's brother tries to r*pe her when she is in high school.........that's why she doesn't go to nanwu uni as her mother also lives in the same city and after the assault she still left YF with the aunt

same. i had read the novel a long time ago and when people said to cast the actor who played sang yan in HL, i was thinking if that happens i will not watch it because that is not how i visioned sang yan when i read the novel. BJT actually fits perfectly as sang yan, and most people who have read the novel will agree with me

I don’t know if dylan would be able to pull of the maturity and coldness of shi yan as he is pretty young and the character is not but i am willing to wait and see how the director and dylan bring out the character.

Also little afraid about this dramas’s airing has it is written mango has its rights and they do a really shitty job with subtitles.

I know that zhang bin’s character kind of deserves when meiren gets mad at him but watching him ep 23 nd how he was so sad after she didn’t talk to him made me feel so sad and made me realise I can’t watch binbin be sad 😔
