I'm watching 5th ep and even tho Ik that kluer is the one who brought oab's ex gf into picture I still find him cute. The way he is trying to drive a wedge between oab and plawan and trying to find a chance to increase intimacy between him and plawan is really cute in a funny way😆. Idk why but I'm enjoying.

Title 4Minutes Spoiler
This is really confusing. If ton kla's brother is alive then why the funeral? Actually there are many confusing things and I feel like great and thyme are really reckless. No matter how much they try to hide, they are gonna be caught one day so why didn't they plan and rescue nan smoothly? They revealed their identity too easily, especially thyme. If he was already gonna show his face to goons then why bother hiding it when questioning korn? And is great not curious as to what happened with thyme's parents and what business his own family runs?
Many things are really confusing for me.

Low rating due to lack of romance and some of ancient dialogues and ettiquate are hard to understand. For me,…
Yeah, though Idk about Ming Dynasty series the only thing I know is empress sun is showed as a very virtuous lady so I guess they highlighted empress hu being evil to show how good empress sun is. Actually in this series (royal feast) even though empress hu had schemed against zijin and made things difficult for her I find her a bit pitiful. Actually all the women in the palace are pitiful, they had to fight for the emperor's favour while alive, their whole life revolved around a single man but in the end they had to die because of him. This series shows life of women in palace.

Now after watching 31 eps I kinda get it why this series have low rating. It's really good series with realistic charaters but things kinda goes downhill from 20th ep which won't appeal to majority of viwers. The relationship between ML and FL becomes more strained and revolves more around politics and misunderstandings. I still like this series a lot as the content in it is relevant but I won't feel like rewatching it.

Ikr. The way ancient people love and convey their love in conservative way feels really refreshing to see.

Yeah.. I think it's the matter of personal taste. I like palace dramas especially a drama so well written but some people find it hard to accept ancient mindset I guess.

Idk why this drama is so underrated? Yes, the pace is a bit slow and it's not very focused on romance but more on psychology and food but it's really worth watching. I really like the way FL is, she is self sufficient and smart and doesn't need ML to come to her rescue everytime she is in trouble (but I can't deny that he had helped her many times😆). She is optimistic and very kind and tho many people might not like such personality but I instead feel that her personality makes her more likable. In a palace full of power play and scheming to fulfill their own selfish goals she is like a breath of fresh air. She is stubborn, tenacious and hardworking. She is kind but won't let anyone take advantage of her kindness and is smart enough to understand a big picture through small details. She has her own pride and dignity and is composed. She is not foolish or childish unlike many
other c-drama fls. Though there's not much romance but the relationship between ml and fl is really sweet. (More like a sweet torture for ml😆)

How can there be no grudge? Just like what CX said in the series, if the king of Haoling had agreed to help XY's mother then his father wouldn't have died neither his mother
and nor XY's mother. It was a chain reaction as Haoling king refused to help at that time because as a king he was worried about his troops. We have seen how Haoling king has helped CX but though we haven't seen Haoling king's relationship with XY's mother or CX's parents we do know that Haoling king really did love XY's mother but even when she had cut her finger and took an oath to protect Haoling troop with all her capabilities he still didn't take into consideration his own feelings towards the person he loves nor he took into consideration the feelings of the one he loved but made a safe choice as an emperor. But in my opinion say, was it necessary to make that choice? Aren't the troops for fighting? Was he not confident in XY's mother? They could have overwhelmed the enemy with a large number of troop and so XY's mother, CX's parents wouldn't have died. But Haoling king didn't take his beloved wife into consideration nor he took the parents of CX with whom he had close relationship into consideration so for the sake of wellbeing and safety of his country he can take such a decision then why can't CX keep his feelings of them being master apprentice aside and wage a war against Haoling to conqure it? And it's not even like CX is going to kill them just the way his parents were killed due to Haoling king's decision but he just wants to conqure Haoling at most Haoling king after being defeated would send his daughter as CX's concubine to make peace and also to allow CX's control over Haoling. But you see the way A nian felt devastated when she got to know he attacked her kingdom but can we imagine how CX must have felt when he got to know that His parents and XY's mother could have been saved if Haoling king had extented his help at that time? As we do know that CX's mother killing herself in front of him is his lifelong trauma and because he has lost his loved ones one by one is the reason behind him wanting to protecr XY and being an emperor. Just like the way he said in the series that if Haoling king had helped them at that time then there was no need for him to worry about his uncles or worry about raising his own troop. Though still he did say that he understood Haoling king's decision as a ruler, didn't Haoling king also say that he can understand CX's decision of war and that if CX had not taken this decision then he would'nt think that CX is a capable ruler? Yes CX's grandfather and Haoling king were in friendly terms with each other and his grandfather had never thought of attacking Haoling
so even if Haoling king at that time had given his troops to XY's mother the Xiyan kingdom would have remembered Haoling king's help and would have sent their own troops to fight along with Haoling whenever Haoling needed it and that way the relationship between these two kingdoms would have been more harmonious. In my opinion if we can excuse Haoling king's action then there's no reason to think that what CX is doing is unreasonable.

Tbh the comforting XY scene in drama might not make sense to the book fans but to the drama viewers it does make…
By intimate I didn't mean physical intimacy or anything but the way he healed her emotionally. Anyways actually I too did feel angry at this scene not because jing was given some of liu's lines but because of how yao reacted later when she saw the lamp kept by Xiang liu (it was kept by him right? At least I assumed that) I mean after consoling her for so long she didn't calm down and instead threw that lamp unceremoniously. I felt it was too much.

But in the trailer didn't XY says to CX that she would have to kill CX cause he has killed TSJ? And about XL saving TSJ, I think they changed it cause XY had already gave TSJ a life saving pill that she had asked him to keep with himself all the time so I'm guessing that they are gonna show that she was saved because of the pill?

I don't think he did anything wrong by attacking Haolin. Yes it's because he holds grudge against the emperor and it's also because he himself is an emperor and wants to unify nations. It's like just the way Haolin emperor can set aside his feelings just to make a choice an emperor would he too wants to show that as an emperor he won't let his feelings and relationship with the Haolin emperor affect his decisions. It's tit for tat in my opinion.

Ugh, those makers are at it again! I'm so frustrated now....They butchered the scenes of Xiang Liu consoling Xiaoyao…
Tbh the comforting XY scene in drama might not make sense to the book fans but to the drama viewers it does make sense. We don't know what XL said or how she reacted but as we know that XY is gonna end up with jing it's only normal to find more comfort from the person whom she loves. I'm not interested in any ship but purely in story. I feel that the writer and director had deliberately cut many XL's scene cause they don't want to show as much intimacy between XY and XL cause she already have someone she loves but if she is then still affected by other male and is intimate with him then atleast I would feel like she is a cheater. Her being intimate with CX can still be excused as she regards him as her close relative/brother and never had romantic thoughts about him but with XL it's different. As for why the XY from novel had so much intimacy with XL was maybe cause the writer wanted to keep up the hope of XY and XL ending up together until the end or maybe had not wanted to give up on their chemistry early.

Ngl, did y'all realize that all of YaoLiu's moments were more memorable than XY with other main leads? But still…
As the name of this series, everyone has to make sacrifices for what they want. The choices the characters made led to these results.

Atp I'm really feeling disbelief as to how XY is unable to notice CX's and XL's feelings for her. People says that women's intuitions are strong so how come she is so dumb even after spending so many years with CX? I can still understand that XL tries to hide his feelings well but CX never deliberately tried to hide them. Also she did witness how XL had saved her, so why had she never though about why someone would save someone while risking their life if they don't have feelings for that person (tho Idk the whole context behind the scene where xl saves xy). Makes me question her EQ.

Just done with Ep11...Im very pissed at CX for making XY believe that her marriage with Jing will bring conflicts…
I felt the same. I really felt mad with CX. He knows through and through how XY and TSJ are and manipulated them. Actually I wouldn't have felt this mad cause I know he cares for XY too but later when I thought about how he will join hands with TSJ's elder brother to kill TJS and the way XY in future would regret delaying her marriage with TSJ (my speculation) I suddenly feel really angry. He is taking advantage of their weakness for his selfish desire.

Oh well, I'm talking about how they have shown it in drama rather than book cause yeah idk book and never planning to read it and the spoilers Ik are from previous LYF season😆

Oh yeah😅. I said that because op asked about the main couple. I didn't mean it as the main male lead of the series.
