Ikr. We can't just blame the MLs for not communicating cause even after seeing the MLs struggling their partners didn't feel the need to explain themselves. Man
would have stopped making attempts on her if she had clearly told her problem to him and then maybe they would have reached an agreement.
Also I think that fuji won't let sei be in open relationship or let sei leave him based on how jealous he looks just by sei associating with other people so communicating with him about open relationship feels out of question to me. He really looks like a control freak.

And that's what I'm saying is that they themself didn't see it coming. It's not that sei didn't communicate but whenever he brings that topic fuji brushes him off. It's fuji who doesn't want to communicate as he runs away whenever sei brings up that topic. As for hagiwara, as I said in the last scene he looked so frustrated, while feeling myriads of emotions how do you expect him to communicate? When he saw the glass given by sei in their living room that's when he thought about sei and messaged him. Should he have went back and said to her 'I'm off to have sex with someone else' and then storm off as he felt so frustrated? Does that count as communication? Man is not in his right mind as he doesn't even know what to say to sei at a such time you want him to calmly communicate with the one who is making him feel all these things? And we still don't even know if they decided to have sex while being on phone or after meeting eachother (I might be wrong). From the start they had not wanted open relationship as they were waiting for their partners but unexpectedly they met eachother and became close so discussing open relationship from the start is out of question.

People saying 'cheating this, cheating that' when even MLs wouldn't have known that they would take such a step. They have been patient but in 4th ep they got to their breaking point. In the last scene hagiwara looked so frustrated and in despair that he didn't even know what to say. He wanted to share his feelings, his misery to the only person who understands him and also vent his frustration on him cause they both are in same situation so both of them wants to vent it. They can't just communicate with their partners when they themselves didn't see it coming. And I feel like if sei tried to leave fuji, fuji won't let him leave at any cost. (You see, sei is bound to fuji emotional so I think fuji will manipulate him emotional to not make him leave).

Sexuality is quite a complex thing. Even if I want to explain it I don't know how to but I think I do understand what she meant by saying that. But that doesn't give her the right to play with hagiwara's feelings like this and do things that only pleases her.

Waiting until the next week is such a torture! I want to watch the next ep already!

Idk but I don't think it's a big deal for fuji to install tv cause sei has given up so many things because of fuji's dislike towards them, the phrase 'he doesn't like it' has been used by sei since the start so fuji giving in for once and bringing the tv doesn't make me feel touched. I instead think that he is trying to appease sei and also indirectly telling him that he can give him whatever he wants beside sex.

Mrs Li 's character is either likable or dislikable. There's no in between. Likable because her character feels fresh different from rigid /dignified elders in the series of ancient setting, she cares for her daughters a lot and is not typically tolerant. But there are many reasons to dislike her that are, she doesn't seem to have an ounce of intelligence while her third daughter is rich in it and even her other daughters have more IQ than her. She breaks down easily, feels hopeless easily, can't control her temper at all, doesn't know how to act in public. I wonder how she was able to manage the house after her husband's death when she is like this. She is never calm and doesn't think about problem's solution calmly like an elder. I just dislike her character a lot but others here might like her (or not). If not for the girls I wouldn't have watched this series. Tho I have many other complains too but I think that the plot's gonna be progressively better as I'm still watching 3rd ep so I won't look at those things. Still it's a funny and interesting series that feels fresh unlike other ancient chinese series.

Do you just simply want to hate on men for no reason? You want example then let me give you. Literally the saying of 'men don't cry' is injustice on men, it's the same as saying Women shouldn't work outside due to the stereotype of society. And don't say these things doesn't matter cause you can go and see on Google that the rate of men dying by committing suicide is more than women. It's a kind of emotional injustice they suffer due to society. As for law, in my country there's a law to protect women from domestic violence or even harassment and yes there are women in need of these laws but what when some misuses them as well? There's violence on men by women in this day and age, present study says, 52.4% of men experienced gender-based violence. Out of 1000, males 51.5% experienced violence at the hands of their wives/intimate partner at least once in their lifetime and 10.5% in the last 12 months. They need to provide the child care money but couldn't see their child without their wife's permission, again there are women in need of these laws but also women who misuses them. In parts of world were there are still 'women shouldn't do this' there are also 'men shouldn't do this'. In this society, it's hard on both men and women, we tend to ignore their struggles selectively. Please do check google to confirm the things I said and if you still don't want to believe that misandry does exist then feel free to not reply as I won't bother to reply back.

One last thing, the man who is sei's friend literally looks like someone with trauma towards sex. That's his sole problem that he doesn't want to have sex at all. You know the meaning of 'dont want to have sex at all' so there's no possibility of him cheating and that's exactly the story plot isn't it? The lack of intimacy. But it's not same with the woman cause she used to have sex with ML first but later stopped so how can people speculate her to be asexual? But people aren't just speculating of her cheating, they are also speculating that she is a lesbian. People here are hating on both man and woman for using the MLs as shield. And there are also people hating on MLs because of speculation of cheating (hence the low rating of this series). There are all types of people speculating all types of things, you are the one being selective. Also saying that 'he has small penis is reasonable reason' is misandry cause you don't think it as an insult the way you think calling the woman bitch is an insult.

Men don't fight for their rights and never will because society is built for their needs.

If these things were said decades ago then I could have agreed to it but in this day and age men aren't treated well as well. They too have the pressure of being a man in society, like woman they too need to follow the set of rules and stereotypes that society has established for them to be called a man. The law of my country atleast protects women but there's no law to protect man. Idk where you live for you to view that misandry doesn't exist but all the places are not similar. There are places where women faces injustice and places where men faces injustice as well.
Also in this comment section I have seen people blaming the woman but I have also seen people blaming sei's partner/friend as well. Calling him names and saying worst things.

If it reassures you, the novel fans have said that the story's main characters are decent and there's no cheating plot. Also they are trying to explore the complexities of relationships as well as intimate life of individuals in this series, I guess that's what they want to show and that's where it's headed.

Now we know that sei and kazuaki aren't actually lovers. In my opinion sei is really confused what kind of relationship they have as kazuaki really care about him a lot more than a normal friend do but he refuses to have sex which is against sei's idea of normal lovers. So he is unsure of their relationship and also feels like their relationship is fragile and he is afraid of breaking it.

I don't think sei is being creepy tho. He is struggling with his feelings and physical needs. It's not easy to leave someone who is the only person in the world who cares about him, was there with him when he was going through hard time, the person he loves. These are all emotional aspects but as a person with needs he also wants to have sex with his lover (which is normally common). I like the way they have shown his internal struggle between platonic love and carnal love. (But honestly, it was indeed a bit uncomfortable when he said 'I will watch you masterbate/I will masterbate and you watch' but I just think that he had a complete breakdown at that time cause he knew that his lover won't like him demanding something like that but he still did)

I'm also talking causally 😭. Ofcourse we are gonna watch his drama. I'm just saying that we will get to see him wear many clothes throughout the drama and then we can causally discuss if his clothes are good or not that good (tho there would be many other things to discuss when the drama is released). Please don't take my words seriously, I'm just discussing about it cause I like to discuss and wanted to express my opinion. (Why do I feel like we are arguing? 😭) (But I don't want to argue I just want to share my opinion 😭)

But clothes are also decided on the basis of character they are playing. Actually let's just watch the series to determine if his clothes are good or not cause the material released now shows just one get up. After the series is released we will have more to compare.

As I said in comparison with ML. Jun already looks so exquisite and handsome in his ancient get up and if they add an even better quality clothes then no one would look at ML and director as well as script writer won't want to see that happen as ML are priority for the story. But Idk if it's just me but I really like Jun's clothes better than ML, I feel that ML's clothes are plain boring. Also clothes are assigned according to the character they play. But well I can only say that we have different opinions. (By saying this I don't mean that no one would look at ML at all, it just means that I don't know anything about him or have never seen any of his series. It's purely based on both Jun's and ML's pics in this drama and I have this biased opinion that Jun looks more exquisite and based on it I have written my opinion above. Feel free to disagree as everyone has their own opinion. And I said that because many times people end up liking second male lead than the lead due to various factors including looks and because I find jun more handsome so yeah that's my opinion. If I come as rude then I apologise.)

But I liked his clothes more than the ML.

Chill bro, that's ancient drama. In ancient period it was considered good for the males to marry a main wife and have concubines also him being a crown prince and later king, it's impossible for him to not have many consorts and concubines. So women being jealous of other women was not seen as a good thing cause the status of women was low than men at that time. The main purpose of this series is to show the historical character that fl is playing is virtuous, kind and someone who is worthy to be an empress, the story is related to history. So the qualities that fl have are the qualities empress should have so she can't be jealous even if she is/ she is not shown jealous cause she is virtuous. Also she was trained to be empress from the start since her childhood so she has her own pride, for someone who should be empress to become a consort is a very big difference so she would rather be a cook than being by his side as there's many people's struggle behind it especially her mother's to make her become an empress, she suffered so much in childhood and later as a maid so later she should forget all these struggles and fall into the arms of ml happily? No good woman would do that. Later after marriage it was ml who wanted her to depend on him as if wanting to make her submit to him so whenever she faced something he started getting mad at her especially for not coming to him like a weak lady who needs support he even (tho unknowingly) made her suffer the truma that she suffered in past just because of his ego. He is the king with power and many concubines who flatter him but fl is not the one among those. It's because the series wanted the fl to be different from others that she is intelligent as well as stubborn and prideful. It's because as a king he could have whatever he wants but couldn't have her heart completely and that's what made her special from other women. If you think about it as ancient and historical setting then everything will make sense.
