That’s the best you can do atm. I’ve been studying chinese for a couple of years, although my chinese knowledge still needs some improvement and once in a while the subs helps to understand some details you can’t figure on your own.
For this drama, I haven’t had other option but turn off the subs and watch it RAW, and about what they were saying…watch over and over again each episode until things for me were crystal clear.

I think I'm going to give this drama a hard-pass; it was a heinous thing to catch up with, "no thanks to the sp-called subbers" the subs were out of context and literraly a crappy copy pase from Google App Translator. Made my eyes cringe and sparked the desire to slit my wrists. I've little knowledge to translate from Chinese, but even the most illiterate in chinese knows ho to reverse translate to english

Makes sense to keep the main leads for the 2nd half of the series. They made it like each season is a different story.

I know it well; I myself started to study chinese back when I was getting my degree. I know Japanese takes some words and hanzi from Chinese, about Korean…I can’t read anything.

I ask this because I’m curious about that. I’m from Spain and know zero about common influency in Asia, and don’t know the scopes.
Like in Southern Europe and Northern Africa countries been influenced during centuries.

I noticed something in the drama related to the hairstyles and make up.
I don’t know the Era is this drama tools place, but has it been influenced by the Japanese somehow.

I might sound harsh, but it’s what I feel like to say. On a side note, I guess the ML is a rookie so let’s give him a chance to shine or be shunned. I’ll pick up this drama once the last episode is airing.
