I did NOT see that one coming.

I feel like they were trying to make him look younger for the role. I think his character is supposed to be late 30’s while Mi Yu is 35. Instead, his hair is drawing my attention to it in every scene. Like it should be a character in this drama in and of itself. And the role of Ji Feng’s hair played by… Wallace Chung’s hair (slightly too long and weirdly teased at times).

I didn’t make the connection either. She is beyond stunning as Mi Yu and does a great job in the role.

His Mom was adopted by her Mom’s family when they were children. She says she lived with Qiao Ye’s mom for 10 years and left when she got pregnant with Wu out of wedlock…
Major recurring theme here is that blood ties aren’t what makes you family as seen with Fan and Nana also, etc.

Why is this rated so low? It was really enjoyable. A quick easy watch with two great leads. I loved it.

This show was amazing and Lee Joon was the most incredible villain. His acting was EVERYTHING.

I’m only on ep 5, but was this shelved for years due to censors or something? Why are all the dates so old? And using the actor who plays Zhaung Xu’s little brother as a yardstick, he seems several years younger in this than in The White Olive Tree…

Yes the ending is open for a season 2. I really hope it does well internationally and we can get a season 2!

Darn! I shouldn’t have skipped intro and outro!! Now I want to go back and pay attention to this. This drama was SO WELL DONE!

So much Cantonese in this. It is odd for those of us used to the Mandarin normally used in dramas. BJT had to learn Cantonese for this role!

Just finished this and it is INCREDIBLE. I’m surprise it is only 8.5 on MDL.

I loved it but agree it would have been better at 30 ep. There was a long underwhelming stretch there that I had to wade through.

She was the best character in those seasons!

Current day Chimok didn’t have the tattoo. He had it in the old picture they had of him and in flashback scenes from his days as a thug. But he didn’t have it in his wedding photo or the scene where he is angry at the restaurant.

But that ending? Felt like there should have been an episode 32, but at the last minute they said, “nope, wrap it up here.” And then they just had to shove a bunch of flashbacks and voiceovers in to tie it together. Too bad because it was pretty good through episode 30.
