CG wasn't the type to express love in the way many of us here expected but given her upbringing and her tom-boy…
I was a little afraid of the recommendation, I've read a LOT of amnesia books and rarely find ones that I actually like, and was worried it would be the same thing with TV shows, but I really enjoyed this one.
Mum is now obsessed with watching c-dramas! I had finally hooked her on! I started her off with k-dramas and she's been very apprehensive about c-dramas, mostly because of the length of them and the language. But she got over both pretty quickly and now even says that she prefers Chinese dramas over Korean ones! Truly a win!

I have Bloody Romance on my list and I'll propose that one to her after we finish The Princess Weiyoung. We are really enjoying this one. Also a very strong topic of revenge!
Thank you so much for this recommendation!

We are waiting for some new dramas to come out, I forget their names but one of them was The Blue Whisper! She prefers watching new series because otherwise we binge watch too much (ahah).

Okay so! I finished Princess Silver and I LOVED IT oh my holy godd it was do good.
Me and my mum watched the whole thing and she cursed me out so many times for getting her hooked on such long dramas that really destroy you emotionally and put you back together!
I was a little hesitant to start PS since I was worried that her amnesia would be the focus point of the drama but I was happy to find that it was completely different from my expectations!
This drama was so good!! Ill have to go make a post about it on the PS page too..
There are a few things that did annoy me but its very minimal, and the drama left an overall positive impression on me so I can overlook anything I had problems with.
We watched The Wolf, which was a little disappointing but it wasn't bad!! We did enjoy it and the end was !!!!

Also! I checked out Dilraba's work, and I am SUPER excited for her new dramas!! I hope Jan/Feb comes sooner because I am SO excited!! Most of her work is on my 'to be watched' list because I'm a totally sucker for these kind of dramas! Wuxia/Xianxia with strong FL is definitely a favorite of mine!!
Thank you so much for all your recommendations, if you ever have any more I will definitely watch it! I trust your recommendations wholeheartedly!!!

I finished LOF and started The Wolf with my mum, but!! I can now happily say I am going to start Princess Silver!!
Also I am excited to watch more of Dilraba's work! She's such a good actress and I really enjoyed her performance here!!
I had a look at TMOPB and ELOD, and I'm not sure they're my cup of tea exactly but I'm willing to try! Before starting TLB I thought I wouldn't like it, but here we are! It's literally one of my favorites now
I think all the dramas that ended up being my top TOP dramas have been those that I thought I wouldn't like and ended up loving
SO I'm willing to try these two and see how they go! Thank you so much <3 If you ever have any recommendations let me know!!

At first, I was quite apprehensive about watching this and I wanted to quit halfway but I stuck with it! Although there are some things that I didn't like, and chemistry between any of the known couples was lacking, I am proud to say I finished it finally!! The chemistry between the leads DID get better but it still felt awkward at times;; Although the romantic gestures from the leads were very cute and swoon-worthy, it would have been nicer to have a little more between the leads. I applaud the directors for trying SO hard to incorporate romance between the two, but it was lacking a little.
In the end, I did enjoy this series! The plot was okay, mostly predictable (which isn't always a bad thing).
If you're looking for a less serious plot, this is it! It was nice to watch it on the side, and it didn't require a lot of attention to figure out what was going on.
There are enough 'comedic' moments to break out of a serious shell, making this drama pleasant to watch on the side. It was confusing at times as they tend to switch from serious moods to comedic moods rather quickly, which did frustrate me at times, but it had its own charms.
Although I would like to say, some of the decisions made by some characters are INFURIATING and genuinely made me want to stop watching the show. Additionally, the costumes from the characters were so confusing, it almost made the series seem like they couldn't choose who they wanted it to look like... Some characters stuck with more historical clothing, and others had leather jackets? It was confusing at times but once you overlook some of these details, it was a pleasant watch.

I'm actually only recently have discovered wuxia/xianxia dramas so I have not watched too many!! This includes Story of Yanxi Palace! I've only watched maybe a handful that I randomly found!

They both sound so good! I'll cue them up after I try to finish Legend of Fei, and I'm really really trying to finish.. I have definitely read some very good and very bad reviews about it and I would probably side with the bad side of them tbh. Look don't get me wrong, its interesting to a point butttt it's lacking something and it's just not my cup of tea.
I'm considering putting it on hold and coming back to it with a fresh mind but I'm just trying to get through it now

I think I'm just more into the serious types of shows, that are more realistic and slow-burn type ya know? That's why TLB REALLY ticked all my boxes, and LOF is a little childish and has comedic relief in the wrong places. If you're into more realistic, political, slow-burn and in-depth series I probably would not recommend LOF, also the chemistry of the leads is off and awkward

I'll put these recommendations on my TBW! Also, this might be random, but is Eternal Love of Dream related to Eternal love? I've seen some of Eternal love but never got to finish it!!

Definitely agree!! I wish they would have stuck to their 50 episode plan but;;;;
I really would have liked to see them tie things up in Eagle division, and how things move on from there but I guess we won't be getting that extra episode ever :*((

Also yes! historical wuxia dramas with strong female leads are definitely my interest points, do give me some reccs <3

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
CG wasn't the type to express love in the way many of us here expected but given her upbringing and her tom-boy…
I totally agree!! I think they mentioned that the officials taught her strategy, war and martial arts, pretty much everything she needed to be a prince! And I REALLY loved this aspect of the series.

Although I noticed her growing femininity after getting her period in the grasslands, and her truly growing from that almost wild and selfish 14 year old, it was weird to see her leave her sword behind by the end of it.
For me it was just odd that after everything she had been through and experienced,. She had less and less fighting scenes, and at then end it was almost as if she was waiting to be saved by AS.
I really really loved the series but wished they could have found a different balance between her growing femininity and her tom-boy ish personality. Rather than giving CG and AS two separate shots, with AS on a horse, looking all warrior like, and CG in the fields by herself, I think it would have been 100x better if they had them together, both in plain clothing, just doing something, no sword in sight (for either of them). This would have been way better as it was quite obvious that both of them were sick of bloodshed and by leaving their main weapons behind would have been amazing to see their peaceful life.
Does that make sense?

Overall this series was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!! If you have any recommendations please let me know!

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
I finished this drama, maybe 30 minutes ago, and in that time I created this account because it was SO GOOD!!…
CG wasn't the type to express love in the way many of us here expected but given her upbringing and her tom-boy personality I really really enjoyed that they didn't remove that part of her!
It was an absolute delight to see everything and watch the plot unfold!
But my favourite part of it all was that they didn't remove CGs personality when she 'fell in love', they kept that tough and tom-boy part of her that is a strategist and knows martial arts! I definitely felt it through the series as she kept dressing in "boy" clothes even though most people knew she was a woman. It was also very nice to see the layering of her clothing to suit both feminine and masculine traits!!
Although! I am slightly disappointed that she left her sword behind and waited for AS to save her, I understand that there was character development, but I would have liked to see more badass CG scenes!!
Also, the whole series was done brilliantly!! From the way they showed different aspects of war, to the development of characters, especially CG and LY, it was all well thought out!

I finished this drama, maybe 30 minutes ago, and in that time I created this account because it was SO GOOD!! the leads had ALL the chemistry and I'm aware that some didn't really feel it or felt that it was too platonic for their liking, but I think this was absolutely perfect! Definitely will have to rewatch this again!

If anyone has any recommendations!! please please let me know, I'm a sucker for historical dramas with strong female leads and an aspect of wuxia and romance!

Mimi should've been killed. Preferably earlier. Would've made the drama 100x better
