Jane did her best and has been blocking them from Peak all this time. I'm actually surprised it took them this long to find him. What else is Jane supposed to do? The marriage seem to have already been arranged and her saying No could have been rejected.

This is why I do not want Peak for Thanwa. Peak is so darn cowardly and indecisive that the sentence "he's an adult" is useless for him because a grown adult should at some point take responsibility and face up to issues and challenges. All I saw was him running away from everything.
