season 1 was great, season 2 was all over the place, they squeezed in so many different plots that it became difficult to tie up every loose ends. what's with the double amnesia? I mean I get the first one, it's justified because of the head trauma, but pls what in the world was the 2nd one about, like he could remember her but couldn't really? really? the FL's character growth was pleasant to watch. so many unjustifiable deaths, and unnecessary too. I know it is dark themed, and not a roses and sunshine kinda drama, but make the angst make sense thats all. season was is a solid 9.5, season two is an 8.0 for me

My top 3 all time favourite Cdrama emperors
1) Joy of life- He was in control of everything happening in his kingdom, and he could care less about his appearance, he had absolute power, authority and dominion over his kingdom. there were no prime ministers with unchecked power, or inlaws that considered themselves Royals.
2) Love like the galaxy: He was a comple sweetheart. I rewatched LLTG several times specifically for him.
3) The long ballad: He was gentleman simply put.

I have seen a lot of fatuos cdrama emperors, but my god this one takes the lead. he is vacantly silly, and obnoxiously stupid.

if we wanted reality all we need to do is look at our lives, we watch it for fiction and fun. in xianxia do people really fly in the air and live in sky castles, yet we watch them and enjoy them.

I'm not sure why anyone would say anything against this drama, it was 100% perfect. the ML embodied the character so well, the PTSD was well depicted , his fears and obsessions, his stormy, brooding, borderline psychotic genuis, yet selflessly loving to his women's personality was spot on. it couldn't have been better. the Fl is my absolute favourite, I love how loyal she was, kai. what can I say, I will really miss this drama. it was perfect
