I know what you mean. but I watched it all the way through with mostly fast forwarding. I think XZ is afraid to kiss or something. His "romance" dramas are hard to watch cuz of his lack of passion and chemistry with his FLs. The ONE kiss was like watching two clumsy children. Too sad. Anyway, I have not liked much of what he puts out. He is too boring for me. I will ignore his next one.

Not until Episode 31 and the one kiss they have is so badly done, you would think it was two shy 2nd graders kissing. It was sad.

Well yet another sterilized, Chinese drama. How utterly boring from Ep 20 and on. No chemistry between the Leads, either XZ has a problem with women leads, or he hates kissing. Their one kiss was so lacking and sad I would have rather gone without seeing such a badly executed PDA. The supports had better chemistry and kisses than the Main leads. Never watching a XZ "romance" ever again. He just doesn't have it in him. Maybe he has a secret girlfriend or boyfriend that is keeping him Clorox clean. And who dresses like that for an awards ceremony? The FL was unhappy and morose the entire time and I got sick of her after awhile. This was a huge disappointment. I give this a 6.2 rating.

Very disappointing. He did the same thing on The Youth Memories. Damn these dramas are lacking substance anymore! smh What is he afraid of? Does he have a girlfriend/boyfriend or something?

Yes it's a mature age-gap drama, but it's TOO slow. By Ep 22, it's still not happening. What is XZ afraid of? The kissing? I would love to see him burn with passion for once. sigh..... he can be considered a boring romantic guy IMHO.

This would have made a really good, if not great, drama if it had been acted and directed well. The message of how to persevere and get through the hard knocks in the world of arts, was a good one, just not well-executed. The cute little love story added in, would have been sweet if the actors had acted better and had some chemistry. It wasn't until the ending with that steamy kiss and then the dance, did I feel anything. So be forewarned that it's kind of a lame drama. Watch at your own risk.

I loved the titillating flirtations between these two wonderful characters. Elvis Han's voice is enough to make you tingle. When he would whisper to her and say such sexy things and then when he read to her, it about drove me crazy. lol This is a drama that touches on how two professionals whose jobs are demanding and stressful deal with it affecting their relationship. This drama is not for everybody because of it being a mature look at real life and not a rom-com or a complete misunderstanding of 2, 3rd parties. But it shows where the Leads both invite the threats of their relationship in to have tea. LOL I would love to see these two in a costume drama that is also this mature of a theme but back in ancient China.

I know this was 5 days ago that you asked, but for me, I watch many of my dramas on myasiantv DOT COM.

myasiantv is up to Ep 23 with Eng subs. The series doesn't end until Oct. 7th so they're still posting the Episodes.

Miday through this too long drama, (24 would have been better), the chemistry between the Leads makes one think of a relationship between brother and sister or colleagues. It started out very good with their flirtations and growing to love and trust each other, but then changes to boring and full of political "intrigue" which is equally boring. Then like other costume dramas, it ends with everybody happy and at peace. BUT with that said, I still recommend it to those who can tolerate the excessive palace politics and don't mind the sad drop in any PDA or even chemistry and it being a little too long. Enjoy!

I don't know but I love the revenge part. And the looks on their faces when they're busted. ha

I find that many dramas are afflicted with the same "draggy" disease at some point and just needs to be fast forwarded. Thanks for the warning though. Happy drama watching!

I almost didn't watch this due to your review. How glad i am to have followed my own curiosity and now am enjoying this drama. I always go by the mantra of everybody has their own tastes and we should always follow our own thoughts and opinions and let no one influence us. But thank you for your review and giving us your thoughts and opinions. That is what makes this world go around. True?

I believe that, he is way to intimate and over the top lovey dovey, with someone who is his blood. I don't think China would approve that. Heck I would hate it if USA approved that. ugh
