Ensemble type of Romantic-Mystery-Comedy K-drama that is exciting to watch!
Tbh, I enjoyed watching this. I kinda started watching it with 10 episodes already available then stopped on the 11th, because I thought it was a 16-episode k-drama. You know, I don't want to wait for a long time to watch the next episodes so I planned on watching ep 12-16 in one day but then, I just found out that there were only 12 episodes T-T Anyway, I could say that it was super fun to watch! Jung Il Woo and Yuri's chemistry is so good. I actually thought they would give off awkward vibes. Don't get me wrong but I am a fan of Il Woo but based on the trailer, I didn't think they would look so good together.
If you love mystery k-drama with romance, then this is just right for you! But take note that the romance aspect is higher than the mystery, unlike other k-dramas that only have subtle romance. It was also comedic, thus, it also falls under the romance-comedy genre.
Here is my kinda-detailed review. I will only mention those that I want to. SPOILER AHEAD!
STORY: The plot was kinda simple. If you're used to mystery-thriller kdramas, you may have guessed what will happen (who's the culprit and all). But it was okay for me since as I've said, this drama is more of a rom-com than a mystery. The romantic line between the main leads is one of my favourites because it wasn't forced. They naturally grow with each other. Something that also really didn't add up to the plot is the NECKLACE. I thought it was such an important piece as how it was shown in ep 1 but it's actually not that of a big deal. Yes, the killer kept that necklace but that's it? Nothing else? Anyways, moving on to how the cast were written....
DON SE RA - I actually like that they didn't make her weak. Unlike some female leads who always need saving, Don Se Ra is smart and can protect herself and her love ones (though not all the time). She's the type of girl who would find a way to escape when kidnapped rather than just let her lover rescue her. She's a natural and I love her for that!
EUN SUN WOO - What else can be said? He's good (ooppss, right now, it is the character okay? not il woo). He's smart and he lives up to it. I love how his character was written. I mean, other main leads- no matter how smart they are- lose themselves when their loved ones are in danger. But for him, he's still that person who thinks of a way to outsmart others. however, he's somehow unnatural at the part where he was kidnapped. He was already stabbed, injured, tired, but how can he still has the strength to fight and outrun the others?
Yang Jin Mo & Na Hee: I wouldn't say that this is an unnecessary couple because they actually helped bring the main couple together. However, tbh, I skipped some of their parts because it is not related to either of the main lead's story. BUT! I do commend that they are written in a way that won't take off the spotlight from the main cast.
ACTING: Everyone was good, hence the rating. If the plot was written with a heavier mystery, I guess their good acting will be seen more.
>>> Ilwoo & Yuri: What else can be said? They're very good! They have the looks, the chemistry, the smiles! I'm actually a fan of Il Woo but I haven't watched any of Yuri's drama- including Bossam where they are the main leads. I was amazed by how she acts as it looked so natural. Even them as a couple looks natural! I even started watching shows wherein they are together and added Bossam in my list!
>>> HONG WOO JIN as Kim Jae Ha: He was actually good! I loved that they chose him though I did not know him before. The best scene of him for me was when he showed his true self. His character was hateful but while watching him act, I can't stop thinking how nice it is for him to be a villain. His eyes were so dark, yet his lips were smiling. If you notice it, the more he is mad as he talks, the more his lips turned into a heart.
>>> YOON SUN WOO as Kang Tae Joon: he's irritating, thus, he's successful as an actor! BWHAHHAH He made Kang Tae Joon so irritating yet at times, pathetic and lonely. Thumbs up!
MUSIC: I love the ost! SAVIOR by Baekho!
