I’m genuinely curious tbh... what exactly makes you think he’s bad at choosing scripts when the show’s already flirting with double-digit ratings after just 2 episodes? And that’s not even counting the Disney+ streaming numbers lol

Cheating? It's literally a common subplot within romance, genius. What’s next? You inventing a whole new genre just to cope? Infidelity can be a part of romantic storytelling & the show can still deliver. There's like gazillion of em. If your fragile sensibilities can’t handle that, cry about it. It’s a you problem, not the show’s & most certainly doesn't mean a show cannot be a success with it. Lol.

Also, we’re 2 episodes in. There’s freakin’ 14 more to go. Jumping to conclusions this early isn’t just dumb...it’s impressively dumb. Maybe try watching the show fully instead of yapping like an idiot who mistakes personal bias for facts. 💀

Same. I loved their intimate scenes. I already know we won’t get much from next episodes but I wish we did. They look so passionate when they are intimate together & it makes a beautiful watch for me personally :)

Anyone else also tired of these 'revenge' & 'thriller' plot gatekeepers always whining about the inclusion of romance? Like come on, crying incessantly about how romance ruins the vibe in revenge plots is just plain dumb. Some of yall acting as if 'The World of the Married' didn’t smash 30% ratings and dominate Korea to become the highest rated in cable tv ever. Penthouse is another great example of a smashing hit with romance subplots driving the main themes. Your taste & perception of a genre isn’t law for how well the show is made & received.

For ex: As for me, I would love to see the FL & ML continue to have a steamy affair in next episodes even tho she is married. Does it suddenly mean that romance makes it better for revenge plots now? No, it's merely my personal preference & taste. Some like em, some don't like em. Your 'personal preferences' doesn't really 'ruin' a show. geez

Romance doesn’t ruin revenge—Bad writing does. Stop pushing baseless narratives just because it doesn’t fit your perception of how a genre should be made. Period

How does romance ruin a revenge plot? 😂 If anything, it starts half the revenge stories. There are like gazillion smashing hits with both romance & revenge which did pretty well. Don't push untrue takes as if they are facts. It's just your own preference & taste.

The 2nd episode jumped 2% in viewership & now they are just 2% short of double figures. Good for SBS & Looks like another hit for disney+ in korea. I am sure they have great numbers too wrt streaming. If the same intensity & intrigue keeps up in next few episodes, they will hit double figure rating soon. I wonder if those steamy kisses played a part as well (it certainly did for me ngl lol ;) )

Man, I love it when a lesser known 'actor' ends up leading a project with big names & it actually pops off. Like you just know how tough the grind was, with their industry so hooked on idol-driven star power culture. That’s why potential hits like these are such game-changers for up-and-coming actors like say hong hwa yeon here.

I guess ML will get captured right after he kisses her in next episode as it's probably a setup. so I am sure yeom family used her feelings or relationship with ML to lure him back to capture him & try to k word him. I guess that's the ocean part.

They do it based on preview as he was trying to get her back even after securing the money. But that's the plot. He is gonna eventually get captured because of her betrayal once again likely. Without these kinda subplots you cannot fill 16 episodes. People are just stupidly impatient lol

Definitely. Coz I am sure she is gonna betray him once again in next episode as they are gonna use her to capture him. And that kiss we saw on preview will pretty much be the end of their romance xD

As per tags it says 'Return from death'. So like i said, yeom will use the FL to capture him. So i guess she will betray him once again in next episodes. That will be his near death experience & then his revenge will probably start. But it's 16 episodes, so they are gonna drag it a lot for sure.

yeah, she is the only one I guessed too considering the power dynamics but it's just that she is very old for ML. Hence I am not sure but maybe it is her. Coz she was pestering ML to be her ally. Could be a contract marriage. you never know

Ah yes, only she fits the age for ML. haha but I feel that's too weak for the dialogue. The only potential person I can think of is Cha Guk Hui but she is pretty old for ML yet you never know as we could see a marriage of convenience xD

Romance is not a focus but just a subplot. It's more about betrayal and revenge but plenty of kisses in first 2 episodes . However I am guessing that's as much we are gonna get wrt romance (one more kiss next episode). Don't expect anything more in upcoming episodes wrt romance. The romance itself is more of a setup for what's to come.

There must be a reason for them to have the FL say "Make sure you take your revenge & walk in holding another woman's hand. Jealousy will eat me alive but I deserve it".

So I am guessing there's another potential love interest for ML (or atleast a fake relationship at best)? However I couldn't figure out from the cast or trailer who that could be but I am sure there's a reason for them to use this dialogue multiple times just like them stressing about doing it without protection indicating a pregnancy.

Obvious from 2 episodes now that the FL clearly wants to find out the truth about her dad & have her own revenge. So it’s funny people are getting mad at her for choosing what’s best for her in doing so. You wouldn’t cry this much if it was a ML doing that coz you all still loved the ML from ‘The Good Bad Mother’ despite the fact he abandoned his lover & pursued someone else for the same revenge. Crazy double standards esp. when it’s not a well known artist lol 😂

And as for people crying about ML being a simp, bro he friggin loved her to the point of giving up marrying an heiress. You really thought he’s gonna wake up next day like, "welp, my feelings gone. I can happily revenge now" ??? Y’all just love to yap for the sake of it & think that's your 'badass' ML. Get a grip. Jesus 🤦‍♂️

Totally loving this despite the fact we can kind of guess what’s to expect next. The FL looks so good as a heiress & does a tremendous job for her first main role. If i have to guess their fate, I feel like FL will give birth to their child but she will end up sacrificing herself for ML coz this has traumatic ending written all over it. From preview it’s clear we might see her betrayal once again coz yeom fam are clearly using her to catch him as you can see from her face. I am sure he is gonna go feral after getting betrayed by her once again. It’s gonna eat her up & hence I don’t see a happy ending for them. But I live for these plots anyway.

Only thing that scares me are the 16 episodes which means potential fillers on cards. So yeah, it can end up bad. So, cannot say for sure yet but for now engaging & intriguing. Enough for me to continue.

Some of you are missing the real reason behind the FL hate for this show. It was never about the character, they’re just hiding behind it to mask their insecurity. It's all about "How dare some unknown actress get intimate scenes with my precious oppa?" (and I love PHS, btw). And to cope, they start crying about "no chemistry," "romance sucks" and all that tired BS. It’s not criticism, it’s just pure, salty coping from these embarrassing lot. If it were a popular idol-actress, they wouldn’t be this pressed.

The very existence of these lame af bunch is exactly why so many 'actual' actresses get sidelined into supporting roles despite being so good in their craft for some subpar idols just coz they bring numbers & eyeballs. The FL acting was so friggin good in episode one & anyone with half a brain could see that. The hate is so forced as it's just a sad coping mechanism coz they can’t stomach their oppa getting intimate with an unknown actress & the very idea of that 'unknown' FL not staying loyal to oppa himself pisses them off so much when it's just an effin fiction. Lol, pathetic AF but it's always funny watching these parasocial weirdos lose their sh#t like this.

Not really & it would make perfect sense if you have read the novel. They both are kids currently. They don't know if the attraction they have for each other now is love & both never took a step towards each other even after going to same college. Huaner's first love is very important experience for her character growth. I don't know how much they will tone it down in the show but Huaner was madly in love with her class mate in college & they dated for 2 years (She loved faithfully & didn't even consider Qichi as a romantic interest once she started dating Tian). She and Qichi even drifted apart till her breakup. I summarized already in below comment.
