Maybe his assistant (Gong Jiho)? She hasn't appeared yet, but it says that she's his assistant.
Ah yes, only she fits the age for ML. haha but I feel that's too weak for the dialogue. The only potential person I can think of is Cha Guk Hui but she is pretty old for ML yet you never know as we could see a marriage of convenience xD

there is a kiss in trailer, does this have romance?
Romance is not a focus but just a subplot. It's more about betrayal and revenge but plenty of kisses in first 2 episodes . However I am guessing that's as much we are gonna get wrt romance (one more kiss next episode). Don't expect anything more in upcoming episodes wrt romance. The romance itself is more of a setup for what's to come.

There must be a reason for them to have the FL say "Make sure you take your revenge & walk in holding another woman's hand. Jealousy will eat me alive but I deserve it".

So I am guessing there's another potential love interest for ML (or atleast a fake relationship at best)? However I couldn't figure out from the cast or trailer who that could be but I am sure there's a reason for them to use this dialogue multiple times just like them stressing about doing it without protection indicating a pregnancy.

Obvious from 2 episodes now that the FL clearly wants to find out the truth about her dad & have her own revenge. So it’s funny people are getting mad at her for choosing what’s best for her in doing so. You wouldn’t cry this much if it was a ML doing that coz you all still loved the ML from ‘The Good Bad Mother’ despite the fact he abandoned his lover & pursued someone else for the same revenge. Crazy double standards esp. when it’s not a well known artist lol 😂

And as for people crying about ML being a simp, bro he friggin loved her to the point of giving up marrying an heiress. You really thought he’s gonna wake up next day like, "welp, my feelings gone. I can happily revenge now" ??? Y’all just love to yap for the sake of it & think that's your 'badass' ML. Get a grip. Jesus 🤦‍♂️

Totally loving this despite the fact we can kind of guess what’s to expect next. The FL looks so good as a heiress & does a tremendous job for her first main role. If i have to guess their fate, I feel like FL will give birth to their child but she will end up sacrificing herself for ML coz this has traumatic ending written all over it. From preview it’s clear we might see her betrayal once again coz yeom fam are clearly using her to catch him as you can see from her face. I am sure he is gonna go feral after getting betrayed by her once again. It’s gonna eat her up & hence I don’t see a happy ending for them. But I live for these plots anyway.

Only thing that scares me are the 16 episodes which means potential fillers on cards. So yeah, it can end up bad. So, cannot say for sure yet but for now engaging & intriguing. Enough for me to continue.

Some of you are missing the real reason behind the FL hate for this show. It was never about the character, they’re just hiding behind it to mask their insecurity. It's all about "How dare some unknown actress get intimate scenes with my precious oppa?" (and I love PHS, btw). And to cope, they start crying about "no chemistry," "romance sucks" and all that tired BS. It’s not criticism, it’s just pure, salty coping from these embarrassing lot. If it were a popular idol-actress, they wouldn’t be this pressed.

The very existence of these lame af bunch is exactly why so many 'actual' actresses get sidelined into supporting roles despite being so good in their craft for some subpar idols just coz they bring numbers & eyeballs. The FL acting was so friggin good in episode one & anyone with half a brain could see that. The hate is so forced as it's just a sad coping mechanism coz they can’t stomach their oppa getting intimate with an unknown actress & the very idea of that 'unknown' FL not staying loyal to oppa himself pisses them off so much when it's just an effin fiction. Lol, pathetic AF but it's always funny watching these parasocial weirdos lose their sh#t like this.

Honestly embarrassing, but it's best to let these weirdos rot in their little parasocial fantasy bubble.

Song cong is a green flag out and out. He has his own track with qiqi and du man. However I gotta tell you there…
Not really & it would make perfect sense if you have read the novel. They both are kids currently. They don't know if the attraction they have for each other now is love & both never took a step towards each other even after going to same college. Huaner's first love is very important experience for her character growth. I don't know how much they will tone it down in the show but Huaner was madly in love with her class mate in college & they dated for 2 years (She loved faithfully & didn't even consider Qichi as a romantic interest once she started dating Tian). She and Qichi even drifted apart till her breakup. I summarized already in below comment.

Unfortunately yes, that arc will surely come coz the actor playing the character is listed in cast credits. However this love plays an important role in huaner's growth. So I wouldn't mind much. Also obviously the show will tone it down by a lot anyway. It's just to show how she evolves from a child to mature woman navigating relationships :)

No, it will be a new guy. His character name is Tian chi. He is not listed in the MDL cast yet. She will meet him when she goes to college.

Yeah, I mean in the show, they surely won't show them both having intimate moments or something knowing how chinese shows work. I think they will just hint it or maybe do a fast forward kind. Basically the guy two times her when she was fully faithful & madly in love with him. So that's the growth aspect for her. I am excited

The show has followed the novel till now regarding every incident. So I am pretty sure they won't change this. Like I said, this relationship is a must for Huaner's character growth. She learns a lot from this experience like how much this love changes her, makes her grow, realize what she was missing etc. Because she never dated anyone before. So she thought this Tian Chi guy was the best boyfriend in the world.. Sadly xD

No, the relationship is absolutely there in the show coz I found the actor playing her first love in the cast list. It’s just a matter of how much they will show. Obviously they won’t go in depth about her intimate stuff like kisses etc but the arc is definitely there coz it’s part of her character growth in regards to romance

It's kind of funny how everyone here is worried about Song cong becoming an issue in qichi & huaner romance. They…
So just a heads-up spoiler from novel for anyone who wants it so you are prepared. Song cong is never an issue for leads. He naturally realizes he doesn't have a chance & has his own stuff to deal with qiqi and du man wrt romance.

However as for QC & HE, Huaner doesn't have any intention to date anyone in college but when she mistakenly hears about qichi having an intimate moment with another girl & also after constant persuasion from her room mate friend huang lu to date, she decides to start dating her class mate who was openly pursuing her (Tian chi). This will be her first love. They were in a relationship for about nearly 2 years & novel gets into details about how this love changed her personality, her experience with first kisses etc (It's part of her growth arc) . Qichi already realized his love by this time & wanted to confess but gave up since she already started dating Tian Chi.

For sample, her love for Tian Chi in the novel is explained as below. So you can imagine :)
"Wanting to laugh for no reason during phone calls, unconsciously wanting to cry when receiving gifts, forgetting herself during kisses, and wanting eternal love—Chen Huan’er loved openly and sincerely, loved until tears filled her eyes."

Only after this breakup, qichi and huaner actual romance begins. Until then it's all just fleeting moments we see right now with them. I am sure the show won't go in depth about her romance with Tian Chi but from the cast, I can see the actor is there, so better be prepared if you hate these kind of plots ;)

Im hoping song cong doesnt cause problems for the leads or try to ruin their relationship cause of his feelings…
Song cong is a green flag out and out. He has his own track with qiqi and du man. However I gotta tell you there will be a love triangle of sorts later coz huaner will have her first love in college with a different guy for about 2 years. She starts dating ML only after her breakup (or rather realization). Just a headsup :)

I agree with you on this one! ZRN really stood out to me this time with her acting because we all know BJT was…
Absolutely! There have been so many great stories and plots that fell flat due to miscasting like when leads are chosen more for their popularity than their actual acting skills. That’s why it’s always such a relief to see a casting decision that truly hits the mark wrt both ML & FL

We all know BJT is a powerhouse when it comes to acting & he’s delivering as always. But who really surprised me the most is Zhang Ruo Nan. Her subtle expressions are so good. If you watch closely, you’ll see how she expresses even tiny flicker of emotion, making you feel it all right along with her. This level of acting nuance is exactly what’s needed from the FL, especially given how much the plot revolves around her traumatic past... Super Impressed & Great casting call for leads I must say.

Really? I like it so far, I wonder what exactly you think is wrong with it?
I am so sorry. I am unable to look past the awful acting, cgi, poor stunt choreo, dubbing etc. There's just too many flaws to continue for my preference. Ofcourse like i said, please enjoy the show if it's to your liking !!
