Found family trope done right!

The story is beautifully written, a person without a family meets 4 people who have a seemingly happy family on the outside but are deep down struggling to establish a connection with each other and express themselves properly. The characters are well written and meaningful. Each adds something to the show. As a drama with only 4 episodes of 20 minutes duration, the pacing was great and plot was explained well.

Even though it deals with certain heart wrenching situations, the drama is really fun to watch. Each episode has a hidden lesson. It is very heartwarming. Loved how the found family trope was portrayed. This drama is now one of my favourites with this trope. It is short but memorable. I watched it in one seating and was left wishing for more.

The ending was my favourite part of the entire drama. I loved how all of them came together for Sensei. Made me tear up.

I am honestly surprised how this drama is rated so low. It deserves more appreciation. Trust me and go for it. This is a must watch!

trigger warning !!

The 1 star is because there isn't a way to rate it a 0. I feel bad for the actors but I can't sugar coat things. Depicting continuous sexual assaults as romance and is very very wrong. There is no justification to such a heinous act no matter what the situation.

I would give a 0 to both the story and the rewatch value if I could. Absolutely horrifying!

I was disgusted and uncomfortable watching this. This is probably not only the worst part of the History franchise but one of the worst dramas ever made.

Film within a film

I found this movie in a list of best zombie movies of all time and went into watching it without looking up the rating or reading the reviews. I think it greatly impacted the way I felt about this movie. Going on imdb and coming here on mdl made me realise how different people's perception of the same form of art can be.

If you are here to watch a hardcore zombie movie, this one is not it. It is light hearted, almost comical. More than zombies, this movie focuses on the blood, sweat and tears that goes behind movie making, the chaotic environment through which people on set have to push through to create a masterpiece. This movie pays homage to the heroes behind the camera.

First 35 minutes are a little hard to watch, especially if you have motion sickness like me. Since it is a one take shot and about zombies, there is a lot of running and shaking and it made me feel sick. I almost dropped it there but I am glad I decided to sit through it. When the one take shot gets over, then the real movie starts.

Honestly till the 40 minute mark, I couldn't really figure out what was going on but when I did understand, I was left engrossed in it. It was extremely enjoyable. The intricate details that viewers often do not pay attention to while watching a film are brought to light in such a nice way. It was extremely appreciable. It is indeed true that a hardworking and smart person can change every crisis into an opportunity. This film rightfully depicts that.

The actors did an amazing job. I don't think anybody was in the supporting characters here, everyone was a main character if you see it that way. I was amazed to see such a beautiful portrayal of the behind the scenes of a movie set.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and it shocked me when I saw how low this movie was rated. Ofcourse people can have different perspectives but if you love the art of film and filmmaking then this movie is a must watch! 10/10 will watch again.

To become a monster, or to live like a pig?

The King of Pigs is easily one of the best school violence/ bullying themed dramas I've watched. It is short but detailed and explicit. Definitely not for the faint hearted!

Entered this drama with no expectation but it had me hooked since the beginning. The ominous vibe of it is amazing. The story is extremely well written. The characters are intrinsic and layered. I loved the way they took time to weave the story about the punishment given to the bullies.

The FL was almost unnecessary. I didn't really like the person playing it either. Jong Suk's character became the most pathetic and pitiful person in the show. It was hard to sympathethize with him.

My favourite character undoubtedly was Kyung Min. Such a soft and warm hearted child turned into a revengeful merciless person for himself and his best friends. He had my full support throughout. I loved the way he handled the bullies, they deserved every bit of pain given to them.

Undoubtedly the child actors did the best out of the entire cast. They are all extremely talented.

The ending is what I expected as soon as I figured what was going on but it still didn't fail to give me goosebumps!
The last frame is the most beautiful in the entire show.

In conclusion, I will remember the King of Pigs forever.
