For me, Blossom has a refreshing take on some drama tropes. The attention to detail, engaging plot, high production value like exquisite costumes, sets, and cinematography,

It hasn't been fully revealed in the drama but based on some scenes, Song Mo's father was forced to marry into the illustrious martial Jiang family by the emperor and he didn't love his wife. It seems like he is very insecure(has inferiority complex) in anything related to them and very resentful to SM's uncle for his power and prestige. He hated that SM was very close to his uncle, showed promise from a young age, and is not biddable to him unlike Song Han.
I read another post of a novel reader that there is a family birth secret related to Song Han but they might not include that in the drama. We'll have to wait and see how it unfolds.
