They are frustrating but the misunderstanding/miscommunication trope is common just because of how cracktastic it is. Nowadays, a lot of dramas tend to subvert it in a couple of episodes but I'm guessing TTEOTM writers wanted to go for the record. 🤣🤣🤣
It heightens the drama and gives more catharsis when the conflict is resolved. I am not saying this is healthy relationship behavior and we certainly shouldn't be taking cues from these fictional characters in real life. Just enjoy the crazy ride. 😂

You cannot take out the enmity because that is the reason why TTJ and LSS' relationship is as is. Imagine yourself as the only survivor after your entire family and all the clans are wiped out and sent 500 years back with the heavy burden to save the realms. LSS hated TTJ but because of her compassionate nature she tried to guide him into the good path and although she did not really admit it, she eventually fell for the hostage prince. There is dysfunction because they are imperfect beings struggling through life (Aren't we all? 😂). Through her numerous interventions, TTJ finally got the chance to get enlightened and break the plan that the original DG made of sending all things back to chaos.
This drama isn't your standard romance drama. Beyond personal love, there are higher themes of karma, redemption, and love for all creation.
