Wonder why Xixi had those shades on. Would have preferred him without.
He had seasonal allergies so his eyes were swollen - I am guessing esp the right eye coz he posted a pic of his left eye on Weibo and it wasn't that bad. Should have worn an eyepatch though. I think he would have rocked the pirate look π€£π€£

Agreed! Couldn't really hate him and I loved Xixi's portrayal of Runyu! That ending scene of him all broken and alone was ππ Xixi should get meatier complex roles like this.

Yup, I get you. I watched LAR too and was appalled at unfair it was. Then again can we really expect more from xianxia gods? They have their removed from the world shiz going on. π π
In this case, HaoTian is impartial. He doesn't care ( and by extension so shouldn't his ancient artifacts) about the rise and fall of races/creatures as long as the universe keeps chugging along. Stepping in is minimal unless his definition of natural order is threatened. I theorized that the Divine child (aka ZM) was supposed to be a way for HT to rectify the problem with the evil Heavenly emperor. CP falling to the mortal realm would not have meant her "death" because she can't die. She is literally chaos energy so she might weaken but eventually gain it back. I dunno if they will follow this in the drama because they've expanded this arc so much, but in the novel, one of the reasons JunTian acknowledged ZM was because of the chaos energy from AZhu that ZM has. Maybe her fall was allowed by HT so that she can meet ZM and later on can use JunTian to slay the evil Divine emperor. However, TM interfered so much and changed the fate of ZM (out of his possessiveness of CP) which set off AZhu overturning the Divine realm causing more disorder. I am not defending HT's actions/inactions but I would say that TM's interference and subsequent actions are the main reasons for the tragedies henceforth.
There are many tragic villains I would like to spend some time with. A recent one that got to me has to be the…
I hated those first three! Haha! I could understand their motivations but there reached a point when they were really unredeemable. π But at least, they are not 2D villains so they could invoke many emotions like hate and even sympathy.
Oh it got me thinking of a follow-up Q, whose villain origin story is the best? π€
Finally a clear YunLu focused vid! Was this shared here before? These two did chat a lot but they kept it very lowkey. Just love seeing them in the same frame. π https://x.com/hauwinag/status/1881387435038498891
I wonder if they will address Hao Tian wanting to possess Zhao Ming's body to descend to Earth. That is suspicious…
Oh my! I had the same thought of TM reminding me of RunYu. Their morally gray characters were acted out by superb actors so one can't help but feel some sympathy and condemnation at the same time.
Haha that's what makes xianxias fascinating - all those convoluted stories sprinkled with idealogies.
In this arc, HaoTian by possessing ZM is his way to right the wrongs and return order to the universe but TM will interfere with his plan, causing more chaos and the really long reincarnation cycles that only XXC and MXL were able to stop with their love.
Current demonized ZM cannot be eradicated but good XXC is a part of him. It's prolly to send a message that there is good and bad in everyone as we are shaped by our circumstances. Regardless of the fairness/unfairness of the past, our future choices and actions will be determined by our chosen Dao (way of the world) or sense of morality. Those have consequences, too.
I honestly didn't care much for the 2nd couple's past story... I'm gonna be harsh and say that it could have beem…
Sure, scrapping it wouldn't have made a difference. No hate but realistically speaking, this was to give more screentime to the actor and actress. πβοΈ The writers might justify it further on by tying up their characters with their present incarnation, too. Who knows? π€·ββοΈ
That was cute how she cuddled while rolling on ZM's shoulder and his doting smile after π₯°
ZM and AZ outsmarted the Xilin king and the Desire god. π€£ Yan and Princess QY deserve to be happy for a while after they went through.
I'm guessing AZ will make a deal with TM to save ZM, but TM reneges and rewrites ZM's history instead. We'll see in tomorrow's eps and that wrap couldn't be any faster. We need DL ZM and MXL already! π
I agree that this arc is taking longer than it should. I did appreciate the wrap on the 2nd cp's story but more focus should be on ZMΓAZhu bond and how ZM gets JunTian so he can go against the Divine Realm. Since the end of this arc is already determined as a bad one for ZM, a lot of extra scenes about the Xilin king, the instigation of immorons, and fallability of humans are unnecessary. One of each just to give it depth or a montage would be even better.
Oh well! At least, we're going back to the current timeline as per ep.36 preview. Demon Lord ZM and fiery MXL, let's go!!! π₯π₯π₯
OMG... I don't know how to put this. I haven't started watching this drama yet.. because I'm a binge watcher.HOWEVER..........…
This is a xianxia with multiple lives/reincarnations, immortals vs humans vs demons, eastern philosophy like karma, etc. If you have seen Eternal Love Ten Miles of Peach Blossom(2017), it is closer to that than let's say the costume transmigration fantasy like Love Game in Eastern Fantasy(2023). I would say this is one of the better drama adaptations I have seen since the characters even the side characters were made to be multi-layered. Sun Zhenni and Zhang Binbin have great chemistry including their "Steve" Wang Duo. Haha! The cast's acting is good, action scenes are pretty decent, and the world building was awesome. They ticked off what I wanted in a xianxia. However, we all have our own tastes so try to watch a couple of eps and see if it works for you. π
What happened to the princess was too traumatic. No wonder she went insane.
Who is Tushan Hou again? Is he that evil brother of Weiwei in LYF?

Runyu! πSomeone posted a Runyu scene compilation on YouTube before but it's gone.π₯ Too bad coz I don't want to rewatch AOL. π€£
