I'm just guessing this could be a drama change (hopefully for the better) or a misdirect at this point to create angst and misunderstanding between ZM and AZ for the last arc. It could be, AZ was being forced by Destiny God(2ML) to break ties with ZM and pretend to betray him. We'll have to wait and see. 😊

The Divine clan begged the Book of Destiny(SML) to change emperor Zhao Ming's fate. They were warned that changing destiny has huge consequences but they still agreed. The BOD banished and trapped ZM in that hellish part of the Dark Abyss. At that time Chaos Pearl was already Ah Zhu who fell in love with ZM who healed her with his blood essence. Learning of what happened to him, she stormed the Divine realm and killed many of the gods there. This is just my supposition based on the novel. Technically, they are part and parcel of each other but the Book of Destiny is a physical book manifestation (that golden book at the end of ep.26) while the God of Destiny usually upholds destiny but can rewrite destiny at a huge cost of course. Not sure if will be interpreted the same in the drama.

Not quite. The fake history was created thus creating a fake world in a sense that the perception of all living beings were altered; no one in the world remembered benevolent emperor Zhao Ming (except for HXM apparently) only knowing of a fallen god sealed and suppressed beneath the abyss.
