The Blood mirror shows only blood-related beings. If not related, why would the girls see what each other is seeing in ep.18? There is too much emphasis on the "blood" part, as shown by Fu Lan Sheng also testing the mirror himself to see if it is faulty so this adaptation could be pushing the sibling aspect. Anyways, the next episodes will reveal more.
