We didn't know Barbin liked Bua because he acted like he wasn't interested all this time. As for Fourmod, I think he realized Chian probably doesn't like him as much as he liked him, so he decided not to continue the relationship. Personally, I don't want Fourmod and Chian to end up together because it would only become more and more toxic.
