I don't understand the hate comments about Cdl's acting. My main issue is Zhou Yiran. It feels like he's trying…
in every promo he has same angle photo, aura farming, and in his previous wuxia drama he used stuntmen for most of the fight scenes, instead of critizing dudu they should focus on their perfect male actors.
I wish Yanyun was more flawed. Watching a character who is good at everything sometimes feels like watching Superman. Some of those traits are not even his in the novel either. I would have loved to see him as a more morally gray character.
Yanyun was so charismatic though, Cisha really needs to do a general drama asap.
Ye Xian had the best development in the story. From what I read in the comments, he’s also the character who changed the most from the novel. They made him much more questionable and honestly I loved that. Sometimes I liked him so much, sometimes I hated him. If that’s what the screenwriter wanted from the audience, then she completely succeeded.
Winwin’s acting keeps improving. His scene crying with Renmin was amazing.
Renmin is my favorite 95-line actress from now on. How do you make every genre look so natural and carry each role with completely different acting styles? She was the MVP of the drama for me.
Gu Lan’s character could have been much better, but the screenwriter felt too lazy to really give her depth.
Ji Yao’s story was not handled well at all. I genuinely did not understand what they were trying to do with him in the end.
Xue Qinglan could have been a much stronger character and helper if they had introduced and developed her earlier.
do you guys loved the ending?? i think it is fine not that bad like comments are claiming
I liked it because it leaves you with that strange feeling of warmth and emptiness at the same time. it feels good, but there’s still something bitter sitting in your chest. i think that’s what life really feels like anyway, no one ever gets a completely happy ending.
it is honestly sad to see how many viewers approach this drama in such a black and white way. some people want every character to behave morally all the time, make perfect decisions, never hurt anyone, never act selfishly, and never do anything questionable. but stories become truly compelling when characters are allowed to be flawed, emotional, contradictory, and human.
this drama deserves viewers who can appreciate complexity instead of trying to force every character into a simple “good or bad” category. the reason i am making this comment is because i keep seeing people criticize the fl even for crying, almost like they want to control her emotions, dictate her choices, and force her to act exactly the way they personally want.
in my opinion, she is one of the best written female leads in recent cdramas exactly because she feels layered and realistic. she is emotionally complex, capable of making mistakes, and shaped by her circumstances instead of existing just to satisfy the audience. despite everything, she never looks down on others or tries to discredit people around her. she feels like an actual person rather than an idealized fantasy character, and that is what makes her so interesting to watch.
