It is their way of cutting cost. 😔 There were talks of even using AI to "help" with C-actors' acting some time ago but thankfully that is shot down (for now).

Yeah, I side eye that too, but it is happening so much in C-dramas now. A lot of the OP/ED credit scenes are now AI unfortunately.

Not episode 1 already got everyone crying... I too cried. I also enjoy the setup of seeing the relationships between the girls already. Xia Zi and Minawaer having that frenemies relationship while Lai Li is the mediator between them. I like that it is not straight up just some trio that have no frictions between them because every friendship group will always have some tension especially when it involves envy.

Yeah, it is pretty much the case for these types of dramas. Not much promo sadly. 😢

The episode schedule dropped. CCTV-1 will be releasing 2 episodes a day (wrap up in 4 days) but with VIP on iQiyi, it will be done in 3 days (4 episodes on the 1st day and 2 episodes each for 2nd and 3rd day).

They changed it for the drama. ML is now the uncle of the novel 2nd ML (Chen Xuan Qing) instead. But based on this cast list order here, seems like he isn't the 2nd ML anymore and it is Winwin's character instead. The 2nd FL's novel name is Yu Wanxue but I don't see it in this cast character list so maybe they changed her name too or they erased her character. So just based on that, they already changed a couple of things already.

I hope the drama treats her better than the novel. In the first life, as FL had a crush on 2nd ML and became 2nd ML's step-mother, she abused her power as mother-in-law and bullied the 2nd FL (2nd ML's wife). Then in the second life, FL doesn't have a crush anymore but 2nd ML fell for FL this time. So now you have 2nd FL who is in a loveless marriage and doesn't get treated well (one example is 2nd ML imagining FL instead when they have intercourse and treated 2nd FL roughly). This drama probably has to change these plotlines because viewers might end up disliking the FL and 2nd ML a lot while 2nd FL is basically a victim that didn't have a say in any of this.

Second Female Lead... (novel spoilers):

Bloom Life is considered the sister drama of To The Wonder. 😊 Both CCTV/iQiyi (and the official accounts of both TTW and BL) posted about them together before. TTW is meant to promote Northern Xinjiang and BL is meant to promote Southern Xinjiang. However, the director/scriptwriter are all different, so still has to remain to be seen on the plot/overall quality but hopefully it is as good as TTW!

Douban rating went from 7.7 to a 7.9 so rating wise, it is definitely seen as a good drama. Online viewership wise, it can't compare to Sun Li's previous dramas (so some have said it is considered a "flop" for her) but C-dramas viewership has declined in general.

This drama didn't get a lot of promo to begin with because of the main actor, Wu Kangren (the whole whether his statement was pro One-China enough back when he signed to a Chinese agency and transitioned from Taiwan to China for his career). Production probably didn't want people to bring that up and start talking about it instead of the actual drama.

Overall, it is considered a good drama with great acting. I can see both of them being nominated for acting awards for the next tracking year.

Thank goodness that YL still had other people in her life from Officer Li to her "ex"/senior brother. Despite the attempts to remove all her connections, she still had people in her life that support her and know what kind of person she actually is (assertive, wants to do the right thing, doesn't give up easily, etc.). PUA can never work entirely when a person still has others in their life and recognize when something is wrong.

This drama is such a good reminder that if you ever share your vulnerabilities with your partner and they throw them back at you during arguments, it is time to RUN.

Not sure what episode you got to yet, but it actually shows later on what actually happened between him and his sister. LL has very twisted feelings about his sister; love, abandonment, resentment, guilt, etc. She was the person who protected him and the person who "betrayed" him in his mind. His first girlfriend just exacerbated those feelings he already had and proved once again he was "right".

Yup, he really isolated her and got rid of her support one by one.

YL reminds him of his sister and himself. The women he went after all exhibited similar traits as his sister (the hair cutting scenes for example were parallels). YL also had a very traumatic past, yet she survived so she is a lot more resilient compared to all his other preys he had so far.
