TQ's eyes basically said WE ARE TIRED OF THIS GAME, FIGURE OUT THE SECRET ALREADY with the whole only SCC is in colors scenes. 😂 TQ in earlier episode said in a way, his sight is like a superpower. SCC's is her bracelet and TQ's is his eyes. Both are trying to lead them to each other.
Lmao, I wonder what the opening rating on Douban will be for this drama because the 1 star and 5 stars based on…
Yup! I know people like to sh*t on fans for being this way, but part of this fandom culture is also encouraged by these artists. Especially the ones who don't really have the skills to back it up, so they rely on having popularity and big fandom (build in audience) to get selected for projects. The more the fans are invested in them, the more they will spend on them. Look at the way fans would stay up just to spam comments and rewatch episodes of dramas in order to increase heat index. It is one thing if they do it out of love for the drama being good and want it to spread and be appreciated, it is another thing to know the drama is not good and still do it just because your fav is in it and your fav is directly/indirectly telling you to do it.
This part of fandom really hurts the industry since scriptwriters know they can slack off, platforms know they got ATM fans willing to spend on anything, and actors/actresses who try to butt in and change scripts in order to get more screentime or more "shining moments".
Thank you for sharing! I really like this theory.Do you have a link to this on xhs? I‘d like to follow along…
Unfortunately no 🥲 It popped up on my FYP and it was a comment underneath not the actual post itself, and I don't have the post anymore since it refreshed.
Aw, our Bing Tang Cheng (TQ/SCC) ship name is starting to trend on Weibo, people were especially moved by the rainbow farewell scene in episode 15. It was so emotional and done so well.
Also ironic that our main pair hasn't even gotten together officially yet but have gone through "death" and separation already.
I cracked up at a comment I saw on Douyin of someone saying "Why are we being sad!!! They are seeing each other at work tomorrow". 😂

SCC isn't really out to get him tbh. I think this drama is doing a pretty unique take on the whole transformation trope because their connections during these arcs are not really on purpose and not out of revenge. TQ just happens to see SCC at her best during these moments and well, things happen LOL. Pretty sure it will be HE but it is slow burn for sure because both will develop as individuals first.
The only problem I am having with this drama is why the FL is considered not beautiful? she is not ugly, she is…
SCC is considered "ordinary". She is kind of like the typical girl at that awkward stage who doesn't really know how to dress herself, don't know what hair fits her the best, etc. TQ's words weren't about her appearance, but about her runny make-up (as he is a chemist and was saying the make-up is bad since it isn't waterproof but he just didn't say the whole sentence because he is also awkward like that) and "behavior" (it has to do with his perception of how she was back in school).
SCC just misunderstood those words as about her appearance. The title "Filter" isn't just about the bracelet/her ability to transform, it is about how they have "filters"/biases toward each other due to misunderstandings in the past and how they slowly realized they were wrong about each other.
Pretending to be blind to trick SCC and get her to feel bad for him/admit the truth about the bracelet is looking more and more likely. 👀 Because SCC would have taken that secret to her grave.

SCC starts as an intern, and she will get more and more involved in her job as it progresses, you will see it especially near the end of episode 4. Haha, Wang Yi can be a mean girl but don't worry, SCC knows how to bite back. She is the type of FL that doesn't need saving from ML in those situations. In addition, the co-workers can't be entirely blamed when they get upset about SCC later from their POV and you will see why.
People on XHS are so smart!! I saw a fresh take on the turtle & luck situation with GY and LY. LY purchased the turtle because she heard it can bring her fortune, and she got scammed. Because she didn't buy the turtle out of "pure intention", she ended up encountering bad luck instead. GY on the other hand ended up buying the turtle out of pity & wanted to save it from mistreatment. In gratitude, the turtle blessed him with good luck. At the same time though, both are nice people deep down, so the turtles are trying to bring them together by mixing their luck together so they can find each other and balance each other out. 😮
Ive decided to continue this after wanting to drop it because of how annoying the ml is. And now that im done…
Definitely continue watching! ✨ His words are harsh mainly because he had bad impressions of SCC from their school days. From anyone's POV, we won't want to end up with someone who we think is a bad person either and think there is no way that type of person can be our type. It is the filter speaking.
Whatever people say that SCC is bad, evil etc,I like that SCC isn’t a saint, lying to TQ and torturing him ,…
The thing is that it is not like SCC is going out of her way to have TQ fall in love with her to torture him either.
The main conflict with the bracelet is /because/ TQ fell for SCC's transformations. If say TQ didn't fall for SM and just get her as a regular model, they did part ways with no problem once the job is done. Without the SM arc, we won't need an alpaca destroying evidence arc either. Same thing with FJ, if TQ didn't fall for FJ, they did also just work as regular partners and have no further interactions beyond business meetings. And if there wasn't the arc with FJ, then QST won't be needed either.
Part of the suffering TQ is going through is because he is falling for someone over and over again who wasn't "wearing their skin" at the moment. There won't even be these conflicts in the first place if say SCC never got the bracelet and TQ saw SCC saving that child as herself. Whether he did fall in love right at that moment might be debatable since his impression of SCC was so bad from their school days, but it would probably still happen as he gets to know SCC.
But because there is this entire bracelet component thrown in, it is testing both TQ and SCC because I think SCC won't be able to believe TQ can be in love with /her/ and TQ might have taken longer to fall for SCC since he did need more time to reverse his thoughts about her.
Of course it seems sad from TQ's POV but at the same time, SCC is not out to get revenge on him. It did be /really bad/ if she purposedly used these transformations to /make/ TQ fall for her but she is just being herself. That is the beauty of their relationship, it was meant to be from the very beginning.
I think this might be a blink and miss moment, but did anyone noticed TQ started carrying chocolates around? It was after the convo he had with SCC about sweets bringing happiness. It is so obvious he is already being influenced by her, but he hasn't realized just yet. The drama also doesn't make it so in your face with slow-mo and flashbacks that oh, this new habit of his was due to that convo but when you catch those moments, it is OH.

Do give it a try! I think it is a gem and standout from the typical romcom tropes in C-dramas. It is funny but also surprising deep when it comes to exploring themes of beauty standards, gender roles, etc.
It is atypical and slow burn lol. I think it is better to go into drama as a growth story for both leads for the first half. Both had misunderstandings/"filters" with each other that hindered them from developing a good relationship at first but is progressing. It also depends how on you view the face switching genre because not a lot of ppl can accept that in romance dramas and don't like it when ML falls for a different face (even if it is the same person on the inside every time). I personally think it is quite romantic.
