Itβs been so long since I watched a drama that truly felt balanced.
β A smart and courageous female lead, she's not reckless, not overpowered, just genuinely strong and self-aware. β A male lead who matches her, not overshadowing but walking beside her, he is strong, clever, brave, and vulnerable where it counts. β Both leads know their strengths and their limits. They ask for help, they rely on each other, and that mutual respect? So rare. β The story dances between dark and light heavy moments with emotional weight, yet still glimmers of hope, humor, and warmth. β It's rare to see good romance in this type of genre, romance that actually matters, not just thrown in for the sake of it, but something that grows naturally and supports the plot. β No annoying tropes. No clingy love interests, no forced jealousy, no cringe second lead drama. Just. Solid. Characters.
please help with the order to watch these drama in a line
You could start with The Mystic Nine but you don't have to as it's just a prequel with different characters. But this is the linear order of the series without all the spinoffs and movies. -The Lost Tomb (2015) -The Lost Tomb 2 (2019) -The Lost Tomb: Explore with the Note (2021) -Ultimate Note (2020) -Adventure Behind the Bronze Door (2024) -Tomb of the Sea (2018) -Reunion: The Sound of Providence (2020) -Reunion: The Sound of Providence Season 2 (2020)
Keep in mind that there is stuff in some earlier dramas that didn't happen until later on in the timeline making the actual flow of the dramas as a whole choppy and confusing along with the continuous change in cast aside from mostly Wang Pangzi and a smattering of others. Hope this helps!
Hi, so I'm not disagreeing with you about the message in your comment more so, I take issue with your use of the…
I know you're replying to Alexandria but I wanted to share some thoughts. As an American I was aware of Pearl Harbor and such, but I was unaware (until Chinese Dramas) that the Japanese behaved... essentially... as Asian Nazis.
This brings up an interesting problem. I feel you are correct to say that 'Japs' as a term shouldn't be used. I cringed a little when Alexandria said it too. But certainly their behavior at that time is worthy of slurring.
In Germany the Nazis were often referred to as 'The Germans' and everyone knew what that meant. But if people turned them into 'The Germs' -- would that be wrong? To slur the 'Germ' of fascism spreading across Europe?
As a linguist I'm torn here. To offer those Japanese 'respect' by calling them 'The Japanese' seems as wrong as calling them 'Japs'. And does the term 'Japs' mean 'the Japanese race' or 'the Japanese Nationalists'?
As a child I grew up with THE THREE STOOGES. During the war they did two anti-Japanese sshort comedy films. The sweet and lovable Curly once felll out of character to say, "I spit on the Japs!" (CRINGE) But is he spitting on the race or or the warriors?
How the FL became so pathetic and timid is beyond me and the voice gets on my nerves. How an persistent, arrogant, loud mouth annoying girl from college became this baby soft spoken air head of a character is beyond me. Her character became clueless around her surroundings and she keep apologizing to everyone, she became spineless.
The whole premise of this show was that the FL was the ML's sunshine...and in the beginning when they were in college, Janice Wu portrayed this character so well...she was outgoing, happy, always smiling, confident and did the chasing, and he was reserved and seemed like a cold person, so he fell for her because she brightened his life....but when Tiffany Tang takes over the character seven years later, she is subdued, meek, has no confidence, can't speak her mind, hardly speaks at all, introverted...she is really depressing to be around....it's like the character from college has been possessed by someone else...don't know if the writers made her that way or the director, but it was really frustrating to watch....
There is lack of communication and then there is complete lack of verbal interaction. I have finally managed to finish it after 4 years. It gets better after they get married. But it was still such a dull series, where was the sunshine? And introducing Tan Kai made me root less for the ML. The FL was an actual human being with him while she turned into a doormat with ML. By the end you just thinking these two are gonna live a long and boring life together.
12 EPISODES and I am at my limit. The FL's Wig takes the entire attention on screen; How's the one responsible for this Hairstyle did not notice this?!! One of the most unnatural looking wig I have ever seen in a Drama, and she keeps her head down most of the times which makes it worst, also it's dark almost everywhere; they're poor; they have no good lights. The characters speaks with a low tone like a group of Burglars on action, and they do it over a very annoying almost Generic loud Background Music too, it's so irritating. SHUT THIS DAMNED MUSIC OFF AND LET THEM SPEAKE LIKE HUMAN BEINGS π€¬

Excellent drama imho, both leads are equally strong in their characterisation, there are some minors absurdities…
I'm on episode 24 and I can't stand her character. When she jumped in front of Pei's car to get his attention I was officially done with forcing myself to watch her character. But to read your comment and see that she never evolves or grows out of her childish ways makes me know I made the right decision.
