He knew who he was dealing with and could have tried to save himself. He chose to save his adopted son instead. For me, that redeemed him.

I actually think he wanted to make a better world. His definition of a "better world" was just really twisted.

Well, he got an extra 10 years of life because of Zhinu, what's not to be thankful for?

I should say Youthful Glory is well done for what it is and has good production values. It's just not for everybody.

It's not Legend of Zang Hai. If you like romance and eye candy, you will like Youthful Glory. If not, there isn't much else to it.

He was one of the MLs in Youthful Glory and had a very different presence in that, I didn't even realize it was the same actor until someone pointed it out.

Xiao Zhan did a phenomenal job in this, I am so happy to discover this actor. The ending was much happier than I expected (and I am a big fan of happy endings, life is hard enough, although if it's a Nirvana in Fire or One and Only-type story and the sad ending makes sense in context, I can live with it). I did not expect Master Gao Ming to live until the end so I am at peace with his death, but I am glad he (because I always suspected he wasn't completely on the up and up) and ZZX were redeemed at the end. But generally I expected a much higher body count and I am glad it didn't happen.

Seriously, time to start a pool on who at that table is going to come out alive.

Doesn't matter what I think. ZH thinks ZZX is good and innocent, he said so himself. Sure, Zhinu (although he is certainly not a good person) is also innocent as far as ZH's family is concerned, and so is Zhinu's wife, that goes without saying. But anyway, you are entitled to your opinion and I to mine.

ZH doesn't know that ZZX didn't keep his promise, (although we the audience still don't know the reason for his actions) so the emotional impact on ZH isn't lessened. And ZH knows that ZZX didn't want his father to die, and because of ZH's actions ZZX ended up in a situation where he was the tool for his father's death. We the audience know more but ZH doesn't and to him it's a huge burden.

Well, what was ZZX guilty of? And he ended up killing his own father. ZH himself says he ended up hurting a good and innocent young man.

Well, as someone else said, every revenge story ultimately goes back to the Count of Monte Christo. At a certain point you begin to realize that the price of your revenge is too high and too many innocents are suffering.

The subtitles went off the rails today.

I just finished this and I absolutely loved it. Really well done.

Hidden Love - was pretty good for a short drama. And, like everyone else, Legend of Zang Hai and Youthful Glory.

In the beginning, sort of. But the FL is never into the SML.

He certainly does seem a bit miscast for a drama where most men look... well, like men, and aren't prettier than the women.
