Yes, it is not the major focus of the show, but there is a romance and kissing scene. The princess is kind of obsessed with the ML, so whenever she's on screen it takes a turn toward romance, but girly crush and misunderstanding style...so annoying
This actress is so annoying, but she tends to deliver on romance/chemistry. Not sure if it's her, the characters, or the direction she's getting, but she is the common denominator. Either way, it serves up what everyone wants from vertical and mini/short dramas...iykyk
I read somewhere the ml's girlfriend actually auditioned for the role but didn't got, so anyone knows which actor…
I bet his girlfriend was fuming when she saw his chemistry with FL in this...they straight up burned the place down. You have to be next level strong to be with an actor
I'm on ep 6 and I find it so cute. There are so many dramas that don't give great reasons for the one-sided pursuit. A lot of times it's just infatuation over looks or something else relatively shallow. But in this drama I think the male lead's strong/early feelings for the FL are actually quite believable because she crashed into his world with her unique essence. It was pretty clear that his attitude switched toward her as soon as she exhibited her amazing intellect and dropped the flag in his drag race. I don't mind the FL. She was written this way and it doesn't bother me. I am sort of getting "Good Doctor" (the U.S. version) vibes from her, so maybe they were trying to have her on the spectrum. And she had trauma, as did the GD. Anyway, so far, so good.
I'm loving the chemistry and the concept of this drama, even though I'm not sure (based on reviews) that I'm gonna be satisfied with the way it all plays out. But I'm looking forward to each episode until I get too annoyed with SFL shenanigans, etc.
I was so disappointed in myself when I found out that the actor who played Yang Yan is a villain IRL. He was one of my favorite support characters and I thought he was smoking hot! I guess I have bad taste in men 🫠 My real problem with this drama was Princess Lin An. She is one of the worst-written female leads ever. I'm not hating on the actress, because I like her in other things, but this character was just too much. And I get that it's not a romance, but that doesn't mean it should be devoid of chemistry. Sadly, the two leads just didn't have it
There's definitely a lot of PR jargon, but she does make a good point. These actors spend so much time on set…
?!?! In what world do they have 4-6 months of free time?! That's a crazy luxury few Western stars have, let alone and C-actors. The hustle is more intense for them. They have projects on projects on projects. Not to mention vertical drama stars, who practically NEVER stop filming. Sounds like you just feel like hating.

This was SO good! Supposedly they are a real couple. I hope it's true, and it's honestly very believable because their chemistry is straight FIRE 🔥🔥🔥 I rarely rewatch intimate scenes (except for Liang Si Wei's, because it's like watching a master artist at work, lol) but I rewatched a few of theirs because they were basically electric. The only thing that annoys me (but it's sadly common in short drama) is the fact that a lot of the intimacy was initiated when he was angry with her about something, and that doesn't give good feels.
Thank you so much! I watched it on YouTube (because I watch on my TV) so the subs were rough, but I'm just glad I got to finish it! That is for sure now in my top 3 favorite vertical/short c-dramas! He is so inexplicably appealing, she is vibrant, and I ship them so hard! I'll try to watch it again soon, with better subs.
朝阳似我/The Rising Sun Resembles Me was blocked 😭 I'm so mad at myself for pausing it and walking away for a while. It's sooo good and now I can't finish it 😭
I totally agree! There are a lot of mini dramas that people say are steamy (e.g. Helpless Without You, No One But You, and Deep Love Love Again and to be fair Jin Ze/Garvey brings the heat) but I think this is the hottest one I've seen yet because the ML definitely brings the butterflies!!!!
What I meant to finish saying was that I felt the same way about the age difference at first, but hung in there because of the high rating and I didn't feel that way by the end.
I too have done early reviews due to frustration, but I've realized that it's best to wait to the end. Because inevitably with Asian dramas, feelings change like 10 times by the end of the series. This was even more of an emotional rollercoaster since it's not a straight rom-com so there's plenty of broody drama.
Seriously! I hate how moody she played it! And her behavior is so contradictory with different characters. I guess Se-Hee's ex said it best, "Ji-Ho is a bit crazy"
I can't watch the female lead do anything without picturing Korean actress Jang Na Ra (mostly her spunky character in One More Happy Ending) I'm convinced they're doppelgangers
