Your theory is possible and also tragic. My theory is Seorin gets amnesia after an accident. By that time, Jangmi has already uncovered Hwayoung's dark secrets. She becomes Seorin to exact revenge on Hwayoung. In the meantime, Seorin lives as Jangmi but she will recover from amnesia and come to know of Hwayoung's evil deeds. The family may or may not be aware of Seorin's identity, depending on the Writer.
