Bruh, you're missing the point entirely.

You call it "cheap and cheesy" like that automatically makes it bad. But sometimes the most effective way to get people to feel an injustice is through melodrama. Subtle, realistic teacher dramas exist and nobody watches them. This one works because it's heightened.

And your whole "Superman doesn't work in real life" argument? No kidding. But drama isn't a policy paper. It's symbolic. The Superman-like MC isn't there to literally save the world - he's there to show, through exaggeration, how broken the system is. That's called satire or allegory, not delusion.

You say it puts people to sleep. I say it wakes people up just not the way you want. The fact that you admit it makes important issues "at least seen" is already a concession. You're just mad it doesn't spoon-feed your preferred solution.

News flash: art doesn't have to fix the problem. It just has to make you see it. And this drama does that better than 90% of the earnest, boring, "realistic" shows out there.

So yeah i love it. not despite the cheese bscause of it.

Do you know how much money and power this company is worth? They do not like scandals, and this one was huge.…
lol yeah exactly that's the thing with giants like disney they can just take the L, write it off, and move on like nothing happened. the loss gets spread around so no single investor is really crying over it.

but that's what makes it funnier to me. like you have all that money, all those lawyers, all that vetting power... and still end up here? come on. it's not that they're gonna die over this- they clearly won't-it's just that they were hyping these two dramas as their big k-drama answer to netflix and then this happens. the irony is almost too perfect.

but yeah they'll be fine. probably gonna come back with another big name and some bulletproof contract clauses next time. still funny to watch though.

I love how there are only two ways of discourse regarding this: one side hating it, the second one enjoying it there no in between

Oh I get the business side completely that's exactly why it's funny. Disney poured Netflix-level money and expected Netflix-level returns, but instead got a PR nightmare + a half-finished drama with a lead who might not even come back. For a company that powerful, that's an even bigger fail they should've vetted harder or structured contracts to protect against this. The fact that they're the ones taking the L after all that cash and leverage? That's the Disney luck right there
