I was not expecting to like this drama so much! The plot is over the top, yes, and there are silly moments but even most of those are so enjoyable and make sense in the world of the drama. What shined for me were the emotional moments, they were very grounded and well written, even the struggles of a deaf person in a world not adapted to them. The main couple moments and the family ones were sooo good.
I would say I even enjoyed the tropiness because it was so heartfelt.
The actors were really good too, in terms of chemistry and expressiveness. I would say Jin Yun was my favourite, his earnestness as Shao Peng was so believable and lovely to watch.
The only plot that really bothered me was that backstory bit between Shao Peng and his best friend. I think they didn't need to make what happened to the best friend so violent for it to matter. But this could also just be my sensitivity towards topics like those. So take it with a grain of salt!
Overall very charming and fun to watch so recommend!
why do you do you not like him? Do you find him pushy or inconsiderate? To me, I know some of his actions are…
I totally see what you mean! He did disrespect those boundaries several times and disregarded other persons feelings too. I guess I just don't assume ill will, maybe also bc his scenes have a playful and unserious vibe to them, I just end up not disliking him. Though it makes for very intriguing character dinamics and fun situations, he does end up hurting people sometimes. Yess let's trust the creators give him some good character development π
why do you do you not like him? Do you find him pushy or inconsiderate? To me, I know some of his actions are a bit off but I just see it as him being a big dummy. He certainly needs better insight, especially about his feelings, but (up until ep 2 at least) he is pretty wholesome bc of his simple mindset. Ends up just giving big himbo energy honestly. Hope he does grow and learn during the show though.
This is very good, the actors are amazing, cinematography is pretty, writing is solid and keeps the excitement up. The world is mostly fleshed out and the characters interact in a refreshing and honest way. But be warned, it could be *very* triggering (child abuse and suicide). It is fun and romantic but very violent and dark as well.
This is so good already, i think he was pushed i don't think he committed suicide. Seeing fl that night must have…
I agree! And I also think he was the one who saved her when she had the accident that paralyzed her. That's why her mother was so weird when she asked about it. I just want to know where the delinquent ex-crush fits in the present... we've seen everyone but him π§
i'm just on ep 1 and it is adorable! The actors, the vibe and cinematography are just so good! one nitpick though, am I the only ome that was bothered she didn't mix the rice before eating the bibimbap? XD
This is one of those cute ones that you need to turn your brain off to enjoy. The actors are cute, their chemistry is good and the whole vibe of their characters is fluffy. Although one thing that bugged me is that this drama does normalize an unhealthy relationship with alcohol (frequent and heavy drinking is seen in a good light, a way to enjoy life) so if that's triggering for you, I would advise you not to watch.
Hi darlings, I'm realtively new to Japanese BLs. I started watching with the Drama Shower.Do you mind suggesting…
I second Kieta Hatsukoi, it's adorable and has some amazing healthy teen friendship rep. Also, really recomend Old Fashion Cupcake and Cherry Magic, they have older leads so there's space for more mature heartfelt moments but there's coziness too.

Also healthy communication is so nice to see :')

Also, that house is BEAUTIFUL
