storyline sound boring but imma watch for Esther <3

you're right I would love to see her in different role, preferably villainess role, and not the cute villainess either actual cunning villainess, but as rn I don't think she can do many different roles, she doesn't have the acting range yet (speaking as an Esther Yu fan), if she take on more than she can handle it might just backfire with her current popularity.

Xinxia isn't my cup of tea either, its always really long episodes of unnecessary drama with 40+ eps, and its the same plot line recycle over and over again, BUT I do like this drama, mainly because I'm an avid Esther Yu fan, I also like that the ML is a villain, and they did good with the concept art and the overall design/visual of the drama is gorgeous. I agree that it kinda fell off in the end, but the story and the actors chemistry is too cute not to like tbh

I know they're gonna make ML less evil for the adaptation, but I wish they would keep about 80% of his character and not make him a total hero, because he, in the very essence, is a villain. That's how he was written and that's how he should be, if they try to change that, then that's no longer Tan Tai Jin. And for the FL I hope they don't make her weak, her character is kind but cunning and also a bit manipulative, she will use any mean to protect the people she love. They're like complete opposite side of the same coin and that's the appeal.

The ending seem lackluster, if I'm rating it critically, the drama start out great in the first half and it kinda fell off in the second half, which include intricate storyline and the CGI too, second half seem like they didn't put in as much money or effort in production. But I do enjoy the drama overall.

right I think so too, which is just giving him an easy noble death that he does not deserve.

bro Rong Hao did so many evil deeds for his selfish love, I would be mad af if they just let him off easily just for a happy ending or because he had a sad past. I wanna see him suffer for the thing he has done.

I just love DFQC character development from ep 24, he learn to respect her feeling of wanting to keep her emotion to herself :'((( it's detail like these that make me love this drama writing, its surely not groundbreaking or the best but its certainly above the other XianXia drama produce after Ashes of Love, storyline make sense, acting is good, CGI and costume is not cheaply made, concept is great, really unlike the dumpster fire that was "Miss the Dragon" and others.

After the initial breakup notice, she posted another one but not directly through her Weibo (on their fan cp group), basically saying he promise a lot but didn't deliver on them, he didn't have plan for the future with her, and she was the only on working hard on their relationship. So Simon response with saying she treated him coldly and mention breaking up all the time, and that he was serious because she met his family, and mention that she once got mad at him for going to take care of his sick mom, basically just a lot of miscommunication I'm just glad nobody cheated. I'm pretty sure she's still being bashed and he deleted his weibo. A lot of people are saying she only stay with him for clout and to promote her brand.

All the OST slap fr, this the first drama that I didn't skip the opening immediately, and Esther Yu also did a good job singing the ost it doesn't sound like her at all, so elegant and gentle.

her character is definitely hit or miss for some people, I guess ur the type that doesn't like overly cute personality :))) that's ok, and I don't think there will be much change to her personality in the drama because that's how her character is written, so just drop now before you get more irritated imo. For me I love her, she's so cute :))) she's just like Esther yu in real life.

I know !!! everything was good when they both posted respectful break up notice, they shoulda just left it there and leave each other alone, but then Melody has to went on their fan group chat and blame Simon for the breakup and then Simon responded back and then it lead to this big thing, and the only one that will be hurt from this is Melody herself because she rely on the internet for her job and he doesn't. I just don't understand why she did that.

it's a scandal now because of what melody said a day later, i think they're both being bashed online now

hate that I was right after the news of them breaking up, seem like my reason was also correct, they just don't match neither lifestyle or personality, you can tell from how they interact in the show.
