This is one frustrating drama.

First of all, the story is decent, it's nothing new. What differentiates it from other dramas though is that this one focuses more on the martial art Yuan Wu Dao and the struggles the protagonist has to go through to get stronger.

Secondly, the special effects and editing are way too over the top for me. There are many scenes that are shown like 5 times in a row but from different angles, it's like they have to show every reaction for about 3 seconds. Also, there are many fighting scenes that look way too fake, they overact the falls and some kicks look strange (I'm not an expert though).

Personally, I liked most characters, but the FL is just way too annoying! She is constantly whining and screaming and she's always prying into other people's affairs; why should everyone tell her their secrets? As if that wasn't enough, she can't make up her mind about who she likes, confusing the viewers, as well as the other characters; I understand she can be confused but there are limits to that. Honestly, she is one of the most, if not THE most annoying FL I've ever seen.

The icing of the cake was the ending, this drama has one of the worst endings I've ever seen. It's like they mixed 3 genres in one story (not gonna say anymore as to not spoil it).

All in all, I wouldn't recommend watching this drama.

Before reading this, I think I should say that I have never watched the other adaptations (Boys Over Flowers) nor the original (Hana Yori Dango), this is the first time I watch this story (I watched some parodies though).

At first, I always sided with the FL because everything seemed to go wrong with her life, but I grew to not really like her as much as I continued watching, mainly because of the choices she made. I also think that some of the things the ML did were forgiven too easily. It was actually pretty hard to choose a favorite character. They all seemed too uninteresting or (stereo)typical, but with time, I grew to like the second lead (as I had predicted) and the other two guys when they are in good friend mode.

Regarding the story... Well, it's very clichéd. In my opinion, they should have made it shorter. Half of the time I wondered: 'Is it really necessary to put these scenes?' or 'What the heck is happening?' And towards the middle of the series, I actually got bored and took my time to continue watching (normally I binge watch series, but with this one, I couldn't).

All in all, it was decent and good to kill some time, don't really recommend it, but if you are interested, I think you should watch it and form your own opinion.

A very confusing story about unrequited love

Before saying anything, I will say that I have not watched any of the other adaptations.

I must say I didn't really love this drama.

First, the story is not that bad I think, but the storytelling is so confusing. It would just skip from one scene to another very abruptly. I was so lost at the beginning, I couldn't understand what was going on at all. On top of that, there were a few things that happened that I didn't like or thought were completely unnecessary (but I won't mention them as to not spoil it).

Second, the acting was quite emotionless in many scenes, their voices sounded monotone, almost robotic (I think they used voice actors). The way they talked was just so weird in my opinion, it didn't sound natural in the least.

Third, the music did not leave an impression. I cannot remember any song from this drama.

So, I wouldn't really recommend this drama, unless you are really bored or have nothing else to watch.
