I'm curious as to why Simon Lian's credit for his role as the White-haired Deity Mo Qixuan is not listed either here or on his personal page. What a strange oversight...πŸ€”

Title The Cursed Love Spoiler
There were several great false starts to this drama, and then it feels like the writers fell asleep in the middle and just went out for drinks at the end. Such a beautiful stellar cast wasted on a lacklustre storyline that really could have and should have been interesting and even fun. The ending really felt like even the writers got bored and wanted to be put out of their misery quickly and quietly. I was very disappointed with this series, but I do look forward to seeing everyone in something better somewhere down the road, because I think they deserve better. Have I mentioned how beautiful they all are? ☺️

Just a tiny observation regarding your comment about the boys not wanting to get too involved with the girls. It struck me in the second episode that all of them had been through rather recent breakups and they all seemed to have taken it badly. It could be that for this trip they just wanted to hang out with their friends without complications (such as girls). It's probably too soon for them to start looking for a rebound. And,as you yourself observed, these girls were a bit messy, and rather nasty. The guys are all so sweet and nice, that I don't think they would have been into the 'mean girls' aesthetic. Just my thoughts regarding your comment. ☺️

I was thrilled to hear Ice singing War Wanarat's song from Jack and Joker in the latest episode! I love when different BL series are tied to one another, either through cameos (the scene from My Golden Blood being shown on television in the first episode of Revamp or the cameo of the leads of Khemjira in Me and Who) or through music. The continuity and connection makes it all so sweet... maybe I am just too sentimental! ☺️

Title Jumong Spoiler
I loved this series more than any other until the final episode when Jumong wanted to send the Arms Master South with the Queen. This upset me so much! 😞 He has been devoted to Jumong for decades, and Jumong just throws him aside like a tool that can be used to help the Queen. He completely disregarded the emotions and sentiments behind the loyalty people felt for him. I had to stop watching. I missed the complete ending of the series because I couldn't watch anymore after that. πŸ˜”

Review Jun Jiu Ling
I'm on episode 24 right now, and the episode where Jin Han's character finds himself waking up in Jiuling's bed confirmed for me that I absolutely adore this actor! Jiuling asking him if he thinks she should take responsibility for him, and the way he creeps away from her in shock and disbelief is hilarious! I loved him as the villainous prince in Royal Nirvana (the first time I saw him), but I also loved him as the chivalrous hero in this series as well. He is, as you say, quite the versatile actor. And despite what people might think, I happen to find him, not only attractive and handsome, but I also believe he exudes a certain sexiness that is lacking in many of the pretty boy leading actors in these dramas. I would say that hairstyle in this particular drama didn't do him any favours, and might have contributed to some people's negative assessment of his looks. But he is actually quite a good looking man! And an incredible actor. ☺️

I've only finished episode 10 and I have an idea that the villain must be the brother in the coma and he is the one Madam Mu keeps seeing in her reflection, because he is very jealous of her relationship with JZ/CJC...

I love the bromance, even if it at the moment it seems more bro than mance...πŸ˜‰

And the little sister element is quite adorable! 😍

I've just started watching episode 3 and was floored to find Noknoi Uraiporn, the legendary morlam singer, whom I absolutely adore, playing Grandma Si! I recognised her the moment I saw her, but I couldn't trust my eyes because it was such an incredible surprise. She isn't listed on the MDL page for some reason, so I had to do some research via Thai websites and I was finally able to confirm it...I am literally ECSTATIC right now! πŸ₯°πŸ˜β˜ΊοΈ

I'm only on the fifth episode so have not yet encountered any of the bromance everyone keeps talking about. But I will say that I have not stopped laughing since the first episode. This is a very enjoyable series. I'm glad I found it! 😁

Excellent suggestion...not as fleshed out a drama as this one, but still gave me the warm and fuzzies! πŸ˜‚

On I Want to Be Brothers with You Aug 23, 2025
I have finally finished watching this and I have to say that I am impressed. This was such an incredibly well-written and well acted (especially considering the actual age of the actors, particularly Gao Yang!) drama series that I just couldn't get enough of it. The moments with the two brothers together are always golden, whether they are fighting with one another, playing with one another, supporting one another through difficult times, or arguing over who is the older brother (an argument which continues to the very last scene! πŸ˜‚)...these two are priceless! The relationship development between the Gao Bin and Gao Yang, where the latter eventually and subtly begins calling the former Dad instead of by his name for example, was heartwarming. You could actually see the two of them growing into each other and learning to appreciate one another. I honestly believe that Ye Xiaowen is the one who saved their father-son relationship from the start, just by his very presence. He truly brought the best out of both of the Gao men. This series was incredibly heartwarming and sad and emotional and funny and silly and annoying (sometimes), and infuriating by the last 5 episodes for reasons which one will discover upon watching it. It ran the entire gamut of emotions for me, and I enjoyed the entire ride! ☺️

Cixi was a nasty and stupid woman and not a role model and in any case she was a Manchu and Qing is technically…
Then I shall have to count on you in the future...(I learned that from Chinese dramas! πŸ˜‚)

Thank you for your graciousness! I think you should know that I consider you to be one of the authorities on Chinese dramas and frequently seek out your reviews before watching any drama series. I want to thank you for your insightful commentary and extremely well thought out viewpoints that you constantly and seemingly tirelessly share with the rest of the world. You are truly a treasure! ☺️

I owe you a HUGE apology. In the past year since this exchange, I have been finally doing my research, and at last understand what you were trying to explain here. My arrogance and stupidity in not attempting to even consider that I might be wrong led to an unpleasant exchange between us, for which I am extremely sorry. I never understood the differences in ethnicities within China. I didn't even know that there existed such a thing. I literally thought that 'all Chinese are alike'. That was my utter and complete ignorance to which I unhappily acceed. I hope you will accept my sincere apology and know that I am continually trying to learn more about Chinese culture so as not to make similar mistakes and cause similar offenses in the future. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

It's probably just me (it usually is...), but I find Jared to be the most spoilt, obnoxious, selfish and self-centred little brat ever. Having just watched episode 7, every tiny ounce of sympathy and even empathy I once had for him is long gone. The terrible things he said and the way he makes everyone bend over backwards to please him when he is supposed to be some kind of role model and leader as the team captain...it's disgraceful really. I'm glad the next episode is the last one because he has made me very tired of this series already. I'm ready for it to end.

idk if you watch the drama by skipping some scenes or not, but clearly you missed some points. she knew how to…
I'd forgotten about that. You are quite right with regard to the horse riding. Although I still find it interesting that someone who spent her entire life on ships and boats would know how to ride a horse, but never mind. It was an interesting series to watch nevertheless.

'What do you think makes a home?'
This question was asked many times in this drama and every reply was interesting in its own way. The questions and answers about romance and love were quite striking in their own ways as well. This was definitely a drama that could make one think. Had it not been overblown. Don't get me wrong. It was a very good drama in its own way. It just wasn't as thought provoking as it could have been because it leaned too much on the usual C-Drama tropes just to ensure its popularity, I suppose. Dumbing down for the masses, as usual.
I watched this only for the Fu Yunxi character and for the actor who portrayed him Xin Yun Lai. I loved him in I Don't Want To Be Brothers With You. He is such an incredible actor! Chen Du Ling is absolutely beautiful. But her character was just a tiny bit too unhinged and borderline Mary Sue for me. She grew up in poverty in a small town in the middle of nowhere during a time when only nobles and soldiers ride horses, yet she could hop on a horse and save the day whenever needed. She knew everything about everything, whether it was lantern riddles, poetry, you name it, she knew it all. It made zero sense at all. And the innumerable times she threatened the life of the Vice Minister of the Office of Judicial Review, and the more innumerable times she literally tried to kill him, even stabbing him at one point, and just got away with it was ridiculous. I would have shot her in the head the first time. I guess that's why nobody makes 30 episode series about me! πŸ˜‚The father and his insipidity and the fact that no one saw through it, also drives me nuts. The man was a mad genius, I've got to give it to him. Or everyone around him was an idiot. I'm willing to accept that conclusion as well. Either way, quite impressive those survival skills of his! He had to have been a cockroach in a prior life. He certainly was one in this one as well! πŸ˜‚
