I lost my hope on MDL rating , lol!I'm using DB rating for every Chinese show basically :D
DB=Douban, a Chinese-language rating site that tends to have much harsher & more consistent ratings compared to MDL. Word of Honor has an 8.6 rating there, too, but it's a very high rating to get on that site.
Does it have a happy ending?? I figured it would but then i saw some very minor spoilers and now im not so sure…
The ending is happy for the main couple, yes! Do note that censorship dictated that it be split off from the end of ep36, so the ending/epilogue was made into its own 3min clip, usually referred to as ep37. There are links to that clip in the discussion section above.
The romance is quite sweet and angst free but if you skip it you won't be missing much, I just like it for the…
Thank you! I don't mind angst in a romance, but I do need the actors' & characters' chemistry to 'click', which hasn't happened for me (yet) with this drama. But I'll continue watching and we'll see. :D
Hi! I have a question about the drama. I've watched up to ep12 so far and I love the plot and the fun little visual effects. However, I'm not feeling any chemistry between either couple (between the two FLs and the two MLs it's a totally different story, thankfully), the dubbing & acting both could use some more work, and the directing/editing often takes me out of scenes (I'm not a fan of the constant uneven spinning camera and random dramatic flashing). The lack of chemistry between the couples is my main problem, though, since it makes me want to skip through those scenes. BUT, and this is the important part: I absolutely adore the writing in this show and there have been some genuinely funny moments so far. The mysteries are engaging and the pacing has been excellent, and objectively speaking this is in no way a bad drama. It has clearly been made with lots of love and honest effort and I understand that the production team was quite poor and inexperienced.
So, all in all, I would like to continue watching, but before then I'd like to know if the romance aspect will be very central to the plot, or would it be possible to just focus on the mystery and maybe speed through the romance parts?
PS. I've seen some nasty fighting on this website, so here's my request to not do that in the replies.
