I started randomly watching Lady of Liberty from episode 11 and was hooked. The characters were flawed but the drama did a decent job of helping me understand why they made certain decisions…but goodness, some of those choices were sooo frustrating!
Lol, perhaps it was because I was invested in the character’s particularly Zhou Mei and Zhang You Shen’s relationship. I was disappointed they did not end up together… seemed like he really loved her and took her words to heart that her ideal man is someone who would give up everything for her. She probably said it facetiously and do not expect anyone to actually do so. His final scene with him eating a cake and visually looking like a clown was heartbreaking for me. I wanted them to both find love and/or be with each other.
I just started this drama to support Xu Haiqiao. Thought I would drop this drama but am rooting for the FL! The wig on Su Ruian is kind of janky, and tropes galore but I am enjoying this solid lower budget drama so far (on episode 4 now)…hope the drama will have a happy ending though

Overall, good modern cdrama for me!
