first, let's call it a promise, oath is a strong word.
second, you're making examples that's got nothing to do with this and were made in a total different situation (not made by force) if every single promise must be kept even if it is made by knives and threats then you can't live in this world. this so obvious.

On surface I admit she didn't flirt with him but, she didn't draw a line between him and her either. especially I wouldn't call hiring the one who is constantly trying to flirt with you a "rejection"

it's interesting for me that nowadays in cdramas it has become a normal thing for FMLs to flirt with any man and the ML must be ok with it otherwise he is a red flag, but when the ML is just talking ( not flirting) with another woman except FML he immediately becomes jerk.

I saw the prison scene again his problem was that he got his power from being the prince consort. didn't want to admit this. he didn't say I didn't like it when you were in power these are 2 different things.

about the causes of deterioration you completely left out LR's role which was interesting. like we want to justify her actions (giving power to noble familys, doesn't supporting his brother which PWX had to fill that hole, and most importantly the appearance of SRQ, part of it was PWX's fault yes but the majority of it ... ) by saying she is a princess she can do whatever she wants.

one more thing as a man the sentence "what's wrong for a man to stays at home and do the affairs" is a taboo for me. you're a man get up and do your job and responsibilities. supporting your wife is absolutely fine and good but except for the fact that she is the princess and somehow part of the shangguan family she is not suitable for the job. the evidence is 20 YEARS that they spent. how she was manipulated by BOTH SRQ and noble familys and supported them against LC and PWX. and her actions in those 20 years. giving such a choice to person with this history and with the personality of which she says I'm a princess and I'm born this way wether anyone likes it or not(from your words about princesses in that era and the prison scene and the rain scene) is wrong.

in his first life he was NOTHING like his father and his wife was Nothing like his mother too, he wasn't protective of his wife, let another man in his house with HIS wife for years. and I didn't get the feeling that he only became the prime minister for Li Rong. I think he did it for the sake of just having power and for his country and Li Rong.

in his second life , it wasn't a FEW steps, he completely give up power and let Li Rong have full control, it may look all sweet to you but no man who loves his wife does that
