By end of #6, i was wondering what lies ahead since they are in a close relationship, having met her parents and so on...I mean there are 8 more eps, and true enough, they have to add unnecessary bittergourd and lemonade to fill the remaining story.

Did ML's mother marry FL's dad? Or is ML's mom just a live-in housekeeper?

If ML's mother did marry FL's dad, shouldn't ML be staying together with his mom and her 2nd marriage family? Cos, that's how it's supposed to be with Asian family.

Also, the way ML interacted with FL's family, prior to getting together with FL, doesn't look like a step-son/step dad/ step siblings kind of relationship.

i like ML character, but can't tahan FL and their funny looking caps. So, have laid off and still have no push to resume watching.

Didn't think of that (resemblance), but there's not much difference in LHY's hairstyle between his period and contemporary roles. The only exception is his long pitch black hair in LBTI with Zhao Lu Si

Normally, when one asks if it's a happy ending or not, he/she will decide to watch or not based on the answer Yes or No. But for this drama, this is not a good deciding indicator.

Did anyone speculate that the way it turned out in the end?

Has anyone tried or done re-watching the series just to see if there's any clue/hint we miss that will lead us to a real suspect?
Or is it not worth the time?

yup, i edited my reply after i rewatched #1. The initial poor resolution #1 video has been replaced with HD. So, i can see the fire incident quite clearly now.

i rewatched Ep#1. Seems the guy with the backpack jumping out of her fiery room fits the ML...

think Zijian's mom mentioned her son is the only offspring in the family. So, there shouldn't be any niece, yes?

The president is originally Zhao but changed to Gao when he married into Gao family (Gao's eldest daughter (deceased). FL role is a capable director and not his secretary or lover. You mentioned Inn hostess. Would that role be Lin Zhen Hui in the drama?

Thank goodness this is only a 12 parter. We're at quarter mark and still at intro mode...

what! Thanks for the comment. By ep# 2, i can foresee the direction this is taking. By #4, i've sort of losing interest already. With your comments, i'll skip to #14 and then put this on hold till finale. Hate to see such trope and blind sighted domineering father.

yeah, he got my attention in X101, and was sort of rooting for him.

i'm already losing interest by #4. This drama may not be the same as the other dramas of the same trope, but i can feel the angst building up in me whenever i see FL just keeping quiet or her high & almighty kept ignoring her comments & being oblivious abt the pollen & feelings... Foresee ML has lots of long run huddles to jump over before he succeeds...

As for controlling parents on FL, this is not the first drama with such trope, qute aplenty but i can't remember the names offhand.

Don't know about other races, but Chinese children do continue living together with parent/s even after they're adults. Unless it's in the way of their lifestyle and living stds eg., working in different city/country or too much commuting time between work and home. Basically, it's very uncommon for a teenager to be dreaming of moving out and living on his/her own.
