yup, such is the common practice in many wuxia & imperial court dramas. LCZ's emperor brother is not the first one and won't be the last! Deep down, such suspecting emperors know their empire need those capable kins/sons/subjects who will outshine them some day, and so they must be controlled to prevent them from turning against them!
Why would you do that for a crime mystery detective series? Sorry, but that's not how you watch whodunnit shows.
my preference is police/crime thriller with unrelated cases. But the plot here seems to revolve around the same unit / cause. As i watched Ep. 2, I already guessed the villain.
