Title Twelve Letters
Reposting my comment on YYB's character cause why not (until episode 6)😅First of all, Ye Yi Bo's character has a lot of narcissistic traits and so does his abuse(narcissistic abuse) towards his daughter. Some exaples are : 1) his public persona that masks his abuse. YYB maintains an impeccable outward appearance , he's seen as gentle, generous, even heroic. He heroically saved people from a factory fire, gaining public praise, he offered to repay money allegedly taken by his absent wife, painting himself as self-sacrificing for his mother’s medical bills and he never spoke ill of his wife in public and claimed he would refuse remarriage to protect his daughter. This crafted image makes others view Ye Haitang’s claims of abuse as delusional or attention-seeking. 2) Gaslighting and feigned victimhood. When YH tries to confort him he twists the narrative, claiming she’s mentally ill. He even uses the madical jargon, "delusional disorder" to appear more believable. 3) Physical and emotional abuse, Ye Yibo constanlty beats his wife over perceived slights, demanding money from her. Haitang witnesses this as a child, who later also becomes his victim after her mother's disappearance. If anyone that reads this have experienced some of those abuse traits, please talk to a trusted person, limit your contact with the abuser or make a safety plan.
