I first entered drama world in 2023 with my first drama that I scrolled onto on YouTube that I thought looked interesting. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and on my drama journey I soon found that apparently I am biased towards all things Chinese (perhaps childhood influence?) which is why I mainly watch cdramas. I do like a good kdrama at times but it's harder to find myself enjoying watching them as much; not sure why. I also enjoy watching Western shows (comedy, sitcom, suspense, action, just throw it at me) and am a certified Marvel fan. I started watching Chinese dramas properly in 2024 where my second drama ever, Who Rules the World came into play when I was scrolling on Netflix. My humble beginnings started on Netflix and slowly I realized how much I missed out on when visiting China. So the next time I returned to visit relatives, all I found myself doing was noticing the posters with celebrities I had never paid attention to before, taking advantage of my cousins' families iQIYI and Youku subscriptions, and getting excited over seeing a familiar face in an advertisement outside a random hotpot restaurant.

My watching habits: I love bingeing dramas, it is my favourite thing to do to destress. Sometimes when I feel like a drama has been put to rest on my open tabs for too long but then I realize I have free will but then I don't really want to totally give up so that goes into the on hold section. So far I have made a little progress on that section but regretfully not much. The only reason I have so little 8s or below in my watchlist is because I either drop the show or don't even watch it in the first place. I normally only consider shows with a rating above an 8 on MDL and only below if the cast is good. My ratings can change over time but only slightly, and all the unreleased dramas that I'm pining away for are in my undecided list. I never put anything in the not interested list. I rate off of emotional impact and enjoyment more than technical criticism, so if you're looking for pointers about camera angles and production processing, I am not your girl. However I do acknowledge cinematography and the work put in behind the scenes while rating a drama when it affects me greatly, but I don't nitpick (not in this way at least)

Once in a while I do pick something up on a whim...then I drop it on a whim as well not necessarily because I didn't like it, just because I wasn't in the mood.

If you check my feed...you can tell I don't really engage with that. Just because I've never found the need to learn how it worked, but it seems fun so maybe I will start posting things in the future when I have more time, but for now if you want to communicate or share something just message. I will normally reply, and I always accept friend requests :) I do have a few reviews written but that was before I knew how the whole reviewing system worked so don't take them seriously...and now I have kind on given up writing them but I think I might pick that up again once I have more time. Maybe in the future someday

OSTS: I have an unhealthy obsession with OSTs. In the beginning I never really paid attention to them, but only after watching drama for longer did I realize just how good some of these songs are...my Spotify account is below in its own table
