Yeah... I heard a lot about this franchise, but Time Raiders was my first drama and I like it a lot! I spent a really good time watching it, and I expected smth like this in Nanyang Mystery (but obviously in the republican setting), and it never met my expectations. I won't make a list of what annoys me in the drama cause you love it )) But if this Mystic Nine hits my spot, I'd def go watch the previous older drama )

The acting is better but there's still some usual dmbj antics (some weird actions scenes)
Seems like this kind of thing is common for this franchise, so we can get used to it. I like Time Raiders a lot, it's a good balance of realism and fiction to me in production style. I understand that republican era drama can be over pretentious, but I hope at least actors won't play as comic characters =_=

Well, Archives is very well received too with 9 303 heat index, but I don't like it at all, so it's not a convincing point for me, but anyway thanks for letting me know! I do hope Mystic Nine is better
That's ok! It has to hit your mood and all the attention to go through the story and patiently peel all layers and masks, cause the story is confusing and not easy really
