Here are my observations and thoughts. Some accuse GJM of pushing Rui for leading roles, but he's never done the same for WD. But I see, the actors at his agency are left to their own when they are not busy with gjm dramas. Rui chooses scripts and goes to audition himself (the upcoming modern dramas with veteran costars is his choice and aim), same does YA, he got the role in the drama with TXW going through many steps of audition on general terms with others. I don't think WD aims to become a leader, it's not his comfort zone. Therefore, the answer that the lack of leading roles is his choice seems to be true.
