The Big Disappointment
Great disappointment is the only summary of this series I can manage right now. I haven't seen such a terrible production in a long time—if ever. I get that Chinese dramas are wildly popular (I'm part of that fanbase myself) and the urge to chase bigger paydays is huge, but... these shows became popular precisely because they offered something different from American TV. Watching this, all I could see were dollar signs and ad placements. How is this any different from what major US corporations shove down our throats?
