Omg,I'd kill to watch some good hanahaki disease angst on my screen, but I'm not optimistic about it... legally it's ok in fandom spaces, but I'm not so sure they could get away with turning it into a popular BL because it can be traced back to that one manga from 2009 that could potential claim copyright, it's too specific of a trope :') They defo would have to get rid of the name "hanahaki", or change it enough for some form of plausible deniability lol

I'd argue that Knot has a more accurate omegaverse rep than whatever ABO Desire had going on lol (in my opinion, an as someona who discovered omegaverse through fanfics). Like it's a balanced combination of the kind of narrative you'd find on omegaverse fics mixed with the lore from omegarverse manhwas (the whole dominant vs recessive stuff translated as true/pure). I swear, manhwas rarely explore A/B/O gender norms and its impact on consent culture the way AO3 authors do, so I'm pleasantly surprised that this show tries? The pacing is a bit weird, but I like the character driven narrative.

There is no fixed rules for omegaverse (can't talk for the source material, I haven't read the novel). I think I've probably read hundreds of omegaverse through fanfics, some where the bite has to be reciprocated, others where just one is enough, and even some where the bond can be broken. Omegaverse is like pizza, the base is the same but the garniture varies according to the chef's preference.
