The first episode was so good and very fast paced ,, the second episode is much slower introducing more characters and telling us about the new building that the two leads are living in and will be trapped in throughout the dramas after the outbreak of this weird side effects
it's similar to the english movie tower block

You're not wrong ,, the directing and the writing in this drama are way off
The director intentionally made the main leads very cold towards each other ,,, even their romantic scenes seemed forced ,, After watching the same actress playing very intimate romantic scenes with cheng yi in love and redemption drama ,, this pales to comparison
the secondary love stories are all very bad in every way possible
this drama had great potential if the romance was warmer than this more natural and the pacing was much faster

I got flatliners movie from year 1986 in this drama
when a group of medical school students tried to flat line their hearts for few minutes and return with the help of their friends to know what will happen to them after they die and their near death experience
the conclusion was similar ,, their brains started to get their memories confused and had hallucinations from their past nearly killed all of them

I totally agree with your comments on the first episode but with Sci fi plots always being dump scientist is a given because it's not actual scientific process and the writers have lesser IQ than the actual scientists ,, they aren't actual researcher to mimic the whole process ,, they are jumping to their idea of playing with the brain and memories
also I've watched a lot of American movies similar to this one and has the same level of stupidity from scientists ,, they are adventures on their experiments crazy sometimes
one of the most related movie I recall was flatliners the original one ,,, it was really close to this one

Why is it most of his dramas without english subtitles ?? he's so underrated actor and most of his dramas are really good but without subs

from episode 12-22 just draggy sub plot that has nothing to do with the main story or the main leads
ten episodes of draggy boring sub plot ,, it's picking up the main story after that

It's not that bad ,,but If you're looking for romance that's not it ,, the romance in this drama isn't good at all

I finished this gem yesterday and I have to say I loved it so much except for the ending seemed rushed ,,OK I agree that the the drug and guns cartels have to be executed but I'm feeling there were many scenes for us fans were cut from the drama ,, Like How is it Gu Tao just got imprisoned without a word ,, even the subordinates when they got investigated they had so much screen time but not him ,, his reaction to the undercover cop and to him being deceived like that ?? also the cop didn't even mentions him once as if he was dead ,, I wished they would have actually killed him than just forget him like that
I felt sorry for him
also the adopted kid ,, didn't meet the main lead after his mission ended that was a bummer too
