Watch it for the actors Not the plot it's a mess

I've waited for this drama for two years since I watched the many trailers of this drama two years ago and it spoiled almost the entire drama, I was so happy and anxious for its release and it kept being rumored to air every few months since then and never materialized
After Mysterious Lotus casebook drama and the Huge success it gained from the amazing acting skills Cheng Yi portrayed in it this drama was due to air and used that huge success of the main lead to its benefit
it's like YouKu Knew if this drama aired solely on its own Schedule it wouldn't get any ratings and would fail miserably
so It worked
Fans are very happy with Mysterious Lotus casebook and Cheng Yi's great success they became very eager to watch his next thing even though this drama was a rushed drama production after Stay with Me drama that had the same two main leads as a couple
the promotions weren't big nor there were any but leaked behind-the-scenes videos a lot of them before its release
We watched the drama with a lot of expectations but it kind of disappointed us as old fans from two years ago

The Plot

1-Very weak draggy and boring plot with a typical Angsty melodramatic story
2-Very annoying obnoxious characters who keep hurting the main couples for very poor reasons
3-Very Typical ending with a happy ending just because we need to wrap up things

The Actors

the main leads were amazing acting wise, Cheng Yi is truly the king of whump and hurt scenes
he can make you feel very sad and emotional every time he appears, he delivers his character beautifully and that's why I watched the drama just for his amazing angsty scenes and even the romantic ones were very touching
The chemistry between the leads was on point
the side characters were annoying most of the time but the actors did their jobs very good can't complain about the acting

The production

Very low production to the point of the actors using their own real-life clothes
Cheng Yi wore his actual real-life clothes in the drama and was shown many times recently wearing the same outfits in public
And some other low production quality from cinematography to sound to special effects

The overall feeling from this drama is that it's okay drama Not bad Not very good
Just okay
If you love the actors you will watch it and feel happy watching it no matter how poor the plot was

Utterly Ridiculous plot with illogical and incorrect portrayal of serious mental disorder

This drama from the first episode started strong and funny ,, the writer didn't hid the fact of the mental disorder the male lead has from the beginning ,, if it was fictional tale like fantasy of having a ghost or a fictional intity as his conscious it would have been more reasonable
but no
the writer mentioned DID mental disorder then portrayed symptoms of schizophrenia instead ,, they didn't even bother to research the subject ,, he didn't care as the doted fans of the actors ,, they like seeing the bromance no matter how was it portrayed illogically
we are not psychologists we don't care ,, that's fine
but to water down such illness with a fake doctor not a professional psychiatrist then makes it ok for the male lead to work as a cop using his alter persona reeking havoc and to persuade the audience that the other persona made him a better person as if you promoting mentally challenged people to embrace their alter egos and to love them ,. gave them the control sometimes so they can make the person's life much better ,, that's really dangerous plot
and it seems that I'm the only one angry about that
YES ,, I KNOW IT'S FICTION ,, I SWEAR I know but drama affect people and people aren't the same in their intake of such ideas
may be I'm one with such illness if I watched this I would laugh and ask my other persona what do you think ?? this looks fun
can we try that
do you get what I mean ,, I don't think dramas are only seen by mentally stable people
also the whole plot about two characters acting in one hero cop together ,, they made the only professional doctor a villain so the writer had it for them this time around ,, he or she really don't like psychiatrists LOL
I enjoyed few laughs ,, didn't like playing on grayish note sometimes ,,, having your alter ego squeeze your behind asking for water while you want to bee ,, the whole scene was so gayish ,, yes he's crazy I know but not funny
I don't know if schizophrenic patients can have physical communication with their alter egos like that or not
solving actual criminal cases seemed secondary objective in this plot ,, it wasn't the main focus no matter how violent the cases were
didn't enjoy the cases they solved ,, it were too serious to turn it into farce
I liked the cast though ,, all the actors were really good
My problem is with the plot it self
the ending wasn't good ,,he stayed cop acknowledging his alter ego as his friend and may be he is still with him

Best Bromance/male friendship drama of 2023 Yet

This drama aired without any promotion and suddenly it's here
the first take from the trailer and promos videos was definitely this is an angsty bromance or male friendship drama
and from the first few episodes it was just funny and hilarious scenes between the two leads,, it was really fast-paced
it didn't have time to go through boring scenes or prolonged dialogues, it went straight to being enemies at first then becoming closest friends after that
The male lead has a goofy crazy character sometimes,, he is carefree, a thief who has no conscious but somehow
he grew conscious when he realized the second lead's true identity, which was related to his sad past
then things in the middle got a lot confusing with all the mess in the historical background which was based on true events from China's true history so it was a bit complicated and a bit messy as a background story
then again the Bromance was blooming and their relationship got stronger and stronger with each lie the male lead give
he lied so many times like a professional thief he is just to survive and to protect his best friend
the drama also had a bonus Romance plot line to pass censorship with all the male lead's skinship scenes,, never would have imagined China passing those scenes without confirming the male lead is a straight guy
the romance plot line wasn't annoying and the female lead was really strong in character and not a damsel in distress as usual
The romance was really little and she was absent most of the time to leave room for the brothers to do their work
I loved every episode of the drama
it turned bloody in the final episodes and made me think it will end a very bad ending but Not Thank god
they ended up being best friends again alive and well
If you like Bromance or male friendship dramas this one is definitely for you

Best Bromance (NON BL) drama since killer and healer and word of Honor

This drama is all about Male friendship between the two male leads,, the romance with the female lead is subtle and not overly exaggerated,, it's friendship and youth struggles in life
I loved loved the friendship
to have that long lost friend finds you and protect you from your own self that's friendship goals
one of the two friends is desperate to carry his grandmother's responsibility in a young age and she's sick most of the time
he endured everything on his own for his only family, his grandmother until his childhood friend found him again and began pursuing him to connect again and to live his young age properly
of course, the young man has a lot of responsibilities towards earning money for a living and taking care of his ailing granny
but his friend and his new girlfriend of sorts didn't leave his side,, they did everything possible to help him take care of his granny and also get him to feel happy and wanted again
it's really emotional story and really amazing sweet friendship you can't miss
I felt happy watching this drama and feeling all these amazing feelings of love without cause or sexual intent
pure innocent strong love

Amazing Bromance/Brotherhood family , school , Comedy drama

This drama is the first Bromance chinese drama that have been released since the official banning of Bromance dramas in china at the end of 2021
It's a family drama not Gay Love or BL drama ,,, pure friendship and brotherly love that's it
I've been watching the drama without subs and with horrible english subs from Mango TV and I'm enduring it because it's worth it also it's easy to understand ,, the acting is really good and the characters are obvious nothing complicated at all about this drama ,,,, it's light funny comedy bromance between two teenage boys becoming brothers in sort of way
you will laugh so much and you will relate to this drama because it's piece of real life at school ,, no Clichés about it and no romance ,,, nothing that will make you cringe but some times the female lead who they made as annoying as possible sometimes ,, the way she speaks and talks like a little girl is really irritating but she's not the focus of the drama at all so it's fine
The friendship between the classmates and neighbors in this drama is the best ,,, no horrible people or villains in this drama unless you count the mother is the villain LOL you will understand why when you watch it
The relationship between the father and son also one of the funniest things about this drama ,, his father is as hilarious as the main lead and the other poor boy is so warm and will make you emotional for him most of the time
This drama is just as warm and fuzzy as it can be in this genera ,, I love it so much that I took the responsibility of subbing it to My own language Arabic and trying to figure out the horrible english subtitles from it ,, I upload the Arabic subtitles for it on facebook and subscene website for Arab fans
I recommend this drama to anyone who likes family warm and brotherly dramas this one is for you ,, you won't be disappointed at all also it's not dramatic at all but it's similar to real life in high school
the best relationship between two new found brothers is the best thing about it

It started with an amazing first two episodes that had so much potential then went down hill after that ,,,, I waited for good bromance and was very disappointed ,,, I waited for good romance and it became all about repeated overused Clichés
I waited for good crime story and it was really draggy boring with no exciting or thrilling element
I waited for good Police academy life story and it became a very bad commercial about police university with everything rosy and lovely so sweet to be believable
I'm so angry at my self for continue to hope and every episode is a big disappointment

Best Short Bromance/friendship Movie I've every seen

I watched it and I fell in love with it ,, it was so good so powerful and the ending made me cry but in happiness
I felt the emotions so Raw ,, I felt their Bromance so strong ,, The final scene left me in tears of joy
I even subbed it to my own language Arabic and post it on Facebook to my friends and a lot have seen it and fell in love with it as I did
My only hope those two amazing actors can make another Bromance drama they will beat the Untamed , word of honor and all these amazing dramas just by their performance

I really enjoyed this drama so much ,, it has a lot of emotions and good feelings about love ,, friendship and family all for the love of the country ,, yes it has some bad scenes not accurate or some bad acting performance from the male lead but that didn't ruin my experience of enjoying watching this drama

Good message but bad delivery ,, tear jerker most of the time

This drama was good and bad at the same time ,, and they are perfectly balanced
It had great message about prevention of suicide but had some horrible solutions sometimes
the writer didn't have any clue about some of the mental disorders he presented so clueless that sometimes borderline dangerous to be solved that way and sometimes just ridiculous
a fan said it in the comment section there was an episode where the suicidal person had anorexia they told her to eat , why can't you love your body and eat and she became all better and ate ,, every thing is fine now LOL
It is like a person with Asthma why can't you breath there is oxygen everywhere LOL
THAT COMMENT was perfect to describe some of the solutions they used in this drama that addresses suicide
Some episodes made me bowl like a baby ,, especially the episode about the women who were captive during the japanese occupation ,, as an Egyptian didn't know about that part of history ,,it was really emotional and touched my heart that they voice these strongest women to the world
So
this drama shifted between hit and mess throughout the episodes and was enjoyable to watch ,, the cast was perfect ,, may be wanted seo hyuk to have much more screen time than this but it's fine not going to rant about that ,, he likes not being the lead of anything
the fictional story about the reapers was laughable and that whole company system for the underworld was laughable ,, the funny part of a sad drama
they didn't give proper attention to the main lead's own story and they wrapped it up badly
Happy ending ,, I'm fine with that
but no second season for this ,, that's enough for one time drama
won't be watching it again too

Disappointing mash up drama , Mediocre at best don't expect much

I had high expectations and I was disappointed from the first or second episode ,, every episode had about ten minutes of thrilling events and the rest is just boring talks or detective work on the mountain
it turned out to be so simple drama not that much of complicated story
detective drama ,, people getting killed on the mountain disguised as freak accidents and the main leads are working together to find the culprit
the supernatural aspect is useless ,, the ghost that hunted the mountain to warn the victims or became a doom sign for them
The episodes that made a good impression for me were the blaze of fire episodes and the flood episode
I though the genera of this drama is about fire rescue or rescue on general on the mountain and with supernatural mythology of it's residents but to put a detective story into the mix that was too much
travelling in time between the past and the present ,, trying to confuse us ,, and illogically ended it a happy ending for the male lead just like that
That was ridiculous ,,, I likes the songs and BTS Jin ost very much
I liked the mountain climatic events
I liked the natural disasters that happened and how they dealt with it
I didn't like the hints of romance and didn't get anywhere
I didn't like all that killing without government noticing and all accidents ,, apparently the government there needed a ghost to point into the direction of the murderer and the ghost didn't even could do that hahaha
so overall it's not so bad not too good it's mediocre with lots of hype because of the actors

Started strong then fell into Rom-com plot ruined the whole genera

I had high expectations for this one from the scenes of the trailers and first few episodes ,, I thought it will only focus on rescue missions, fire fighting , maybe side story of slight Romance and What I was longing for Bromance especially between the firefighters but As usual the writers focus was else where ,,,,, he or she put too much talk and nonsense scenes about the romantic interests and the administrative issues of the firefighters ,, too much filler scenes ,, there were very good and strong episodes and there were a lot of filler episodes in such not too long drama ,, I was bored a lot to be honest
I wanted refreshing rescue missions every episode but that didn't happen ,, I wanted more strong Bromance scenes but it wasn't that strong nor good may be there were few but it was cut mostly too
The growth of the main character was horrible ,,him imitating old woman is horrible ,, Immature fire fighter to the end
there were some good fire fighting scenes and rescuing from the firefighters to their collogues but not that much nor that focus .. the injuries were all cut and jump to hospital okey and fine or dead on the ground no Angst ,, it's like you got hurt walk it off ,, even when his friend died in a fire his reaction wasn't what I was expecting
the writer wasted a lot of time on side stories and dull boring scenes
The ending was the worst ever to be honest ,, the whole drama is a big disappointment
I watch American similar tv show called chicago fire it has every weak fire fighting mission very different and very creative also it has the love lives of the fire fighters but in good balance with every mission and with good point to every rescue also the tv show called 911 is one of the best of this genera also American and it has both in good balance because the genera makes it possible to actually tell the public about fire safety and the dangers that can happen not all about administrative talk nor about love lives and social problems of the fire fighters more than the mission
I don't recommend this drama unfortunately

Best Brotherhood detective Wuxia drama in 2023

I was waiting for this drama since it was shot a year ago, I'm a fan of Cheng Yi and Joseph Zhang's dramas I follow the news about dramas they are shooting and since the shooting of this drama it showed so much potential The bromance, friendship, care, martial arts, and also the Angst that Cheng Yi brings to each of his dramas

when it started airing this drama I had very high hopes and for the first time never disappointed actually, It surpassed my expectations because the plot is very well written with no fillers or annoying romantic relationships even the romantic backstory was short and concise which amazed me and surprised me the most is Cheng Yi's real voice, I've heard it before in interviews or immortal samsara drama but never enjoyed it as much as here

his character was so vibrant, so sarcastic sometimes I've never seen him in such a character before I had so much fun watching him being this sarcastic character who keeps ditching his disciple to protect him every funny episode from the first half of the drama was so much entertaining and joyful to watch and it has a strong story to back it up not just funny for the sake of some laughs

FDB and DFS (Joseph and Xiao ) did a great job Pickering with each other, the opposites of characters yet they care about the hero the only friend for them Li Xiang Yi they showed so much care and playfulness to their characters I really can't say anything bad about this drama because there is nothing bad about it at all

I wasn't bored for one second, I loved every character, even the villains were fun to watch The martial arts fights were more like dances, beautiful well-played dances, they were really spectacular agree with Joseph when he said to Cheng Yi what you did in those sword fights is something that no one can repeat
If you like Brotherhood, male friendship, detective genera, martial arts, and wuxia fights you will fall in love with this drama can't move on since I finished it and I will probably watch it again and again WELL DONE AND WELL EXECUTED WUXIA BROMANCE DRAMV

Average korean drama not bad and not the strongest either

Didn't watch the original to be honest but I heard a lot about it from my friends .. was anticipating it
this one has very good cast ,, I thought it would be more like squid game with a twist ,, I don't like gore nor profanity ,, it has less gore but it has two sex secenes in episodes five and six ,, I skipped them to be honest they weren't important
explicit sex scene at the ending of episode six was too much
the drama it self is Average ,, didn't excite me that much ,, didn't care about any of the characters ,, the psycho character isn't that scary
the members of the crew were weak and messy
I didn't find any of the characters that intriguing or that strong to grab my attention
but the production quality is amazing that's for sure
it's good watch but don't get your expectations high you will be disappointed

Angsty Cliché' love story that you have to skip a lot to enjoy

I actually watched the whole drama in an hour all 28 episodes of it
Yes ,,, one hour the whole thing skipping all the boring parts focusing on the male lead's Angst with the female lead story and the story is very simple ,,he's sick ,, she has the cure ,, she was angry at him for some reason stayed angry about fifteen episodes and people around him tried to save his life without her ,, she didn't care one bit about him ,,, then they came together again when he got better from her blood that they somehow got from her without her knowledge then he got really really sick near dying she saved him and got married at the end ,,nothing else matters that's it LOL
May be I'm mistaken in some details ,,I skipped the whole thing but some parts
overall ,, it's not very clever or deep drama but the leads were nice to look at
also the acting was very average not that strong performance ,, I knew some of the actors from historical chinese dramas but as side characters always ,, the male lead didn't look chinese and turned to be south korean non the less still handsome to look at

A melodramatic Youth's struggle in life that has little to do with Bromance or Computers

I was waiting for this drama for about a year or so and was so excited when I watched the trailer
I liked the 90s retro style of it in the trailer and I thought it was similar to the American movie steve jobs success story but I was totally wrong
This drama is a piece of real life drama ,,, every hardship , every tough times ,, every painful thing that young men experience in their path towards success in work and love life too
I expected it would get better as they grow and evolve and I was totally wrong again ,,, but they succeeded for very short time then failed again and again and again similar to actual real life for most of us who didn't have it easy or handed to them
I like the realistic aspect of it but sometimes it was too overwhelming
It wasn't Steve jobs story after all ,,, they were not geniuses ,,, they were sales men and entrepreneurs of sorts
I can't forget how much I cried because of the main leads hardships and they cast the perfect young actor for it ,, he's one of the most talented and experienced professional young actor in china and it shows every time he plays a character from very young age
the plot made him older than his real age which was 20 years old when he shot this drama ,, they made him older than his co star who is older than him by four years ,, it was funny how New hao called him older colleague most of the time and he was definitely the older one ,, it sowed sometime the age difference between them
The main lead perfect acting immersed me in his life in this drama I believed so much that it was him that poor character when he cried I cried when he was ecstatic and happy I was happy
But it really hurt me when I saw that the plot made of him an example of failure in everything he tries so much to have
he wasn't lazy nor incompetent he was a survival with a very proud personality
The romantic story was very realistic too and okey not annoying and added so much to the plot
I liked the two female leads in it ,, they were really good for both characters
The Bromance or the friendship was really good but realistic too ,, they were separate most of the time but they kept in touch calling each other from time to time so My dreams of fantastic Bromance were out of the window but still the way the second male lead cried and cared for his best friend was touching

there was an episode that really broke me ,,,, when he carried corpses for a living after reaching rock bottom just to eat and when he ate he puked everything after that
that was gore ... pure cruelty to his character

after all that pain it ended with an open ending and very bad one so I'm waiting for season two and very disappointed with the Misérables plot of season one
